We're destined ... to be bad forever. I'm now convinced of that. Same with the Bills. I've fully bought in that we'll never be good at the sports. Why ? 'Cuz we're Buffalo. Over 50 years of this crap and I'm just about done with both franchises. I think it's time to become a fair weather fan. Wake me up when (if) we're ever good.

I dont want to be negative but we are on the verge of not being great with yet again a star of the league.

The context of "You people" and the definition of using it is to create another category of people distinct from the whole. That whole is Canada, and the you people is the category of people that Cherry defined, those that come to Canada and enjoy OUR way of life. The inclusion of our way of life phrase is exclusionary of the You people category he created. Hence, why people took it as offensive to those that came to Canada, or as they're known, immigrants.

All that being said I wouldn't fire him for his opinon as I would like to see our larger cultural shift towards punishing those who disagree with us stop.

Since Cherry sees immigrants who visibly don't respect one of his cultural traditions he deeply believes in he's used the term "you people" to describe them. For this he has been fired. That is horrifying.

Earth to liberals: Not everyone automatically accepts someone as a native to their country the second they set foot on said country's soil. To do so, frankly, is absurd on its face. Nor, is everyone willing to see their cultural traditions brushed away, so using a phrase like "our way of life" is entirely appropriate for Cherry who would like to see immigrants become Canadian rather than Canada become something else. He obviously believes Canada is something in and of itself that should be learned and respected, and that is what really offends liberals.

The coach is a nonfactor.

The theme of every sabres roster under TM and Botts is an overall lack of talent. We focus on strong players, or faster players, or younger players, or veterans, but the problem is bad players versus good players. It's really that stupidly simple.

There's nothing to overthink. They went into the the season with a top six that included only three actual top six forwards, with one converted third line winger to 2C, one AHL player, and Sobotka who might be the worst forward in hockey.

Their bottom six is equally full of question marks or dead weight players.

They are still relying on Risto to be a #1 D when this is the 7th year of him proving he isn't one.

They brought back two goaltenders who were both below average last year.

Where is the talent? Where is the reason to think they were good? It's all, well if Mitts makes a jump and if Dahlin makes a jump and if Olofsson gets 60pts and if Ullmark can take that step and if Krueger can work his magic...but that poop is true of every team in the league. Every team goes into a season with a bunch of potential, and some of it pans out and some doesn't. The bad teams bank on it. The talented teams don't need everything to go right to be okay.

I think there's a bit of a paradox with Mittelstadt. He needs more ice time to get more points, but hes not good enough defensively to get the time. Hes stuck in a rough place

I have no interest in the movie, but the redesign from the original trailer with the weird humanoid is a massive improvement. I agree with your last sentence whole heartedly though

Now this is just hypothetical, nobody go nuts. But what do you think you could get for Dahlin in a trade. Is he worth a 2 Hi End Forward prospects or 2 good young players already playing. A good forward and a pick. Could it infuse some hi end talent to are forward group. Imagine 2 more forwards that could score 20-30 goals.
