Plays a pretty basic game? Throws a hit, chips it out? |

he was statistically one of the worst d-men in the league last year. his hockey iq is pretty garbage too |

I don't see anything here that justifies your premise. You're basically suggesting trading Gostisbehere for a better defenseman of similar age. How does that happen? - MJL
No that’s not my premise. |

No? What does this mean?
"Could be another d. He just seems more one dimensional than the others. And if he’s not in the top four do you get more of if equivalent of age shut down man. "

What choice do we have? With Morin's ACL injury they are one more dinged up defenseman away from being forced to play him.
But to answer the question, I don't have too big of an issue with him. I've seen much worse within the franchise. |

Is Ghost expendable? Well, unless you are getting a Dman back, the Flyers 3rd pair would be Hagg/Braun.
Does that answer the question?

Yeah. So he is if you’re getting a d man back. How I translated your response. Everyone acts like I’m hating on him or saying he should be traded. I said I’m fine with him here was just curious what people thought about his future here with the emergence of Myers and sanhiem and if they continue to improve.
My next question would be what a good match would be or who you would like to see if they were to go that route. But it just because I like to speculate and think of ways to improve the team and hearing others thoughts. |

You still haven't answered how the emergence of Sanhiem and Myers makes Gostisbehere expendable. Also didn't explain your other statement that I challenged. Basically your premise didn't make sense.

I did. Just because you didn’t like the answer doesn’t mean I didnt answer the question. Not to you maybe, already explained what I meant by the question. If you don’t get it I’m not explaining in any other way as you’ll just want to argue it. And it pushes him further down the depth chart with their capabilities of taking his role on the pp. hence if they continue to improve.
No need to respond m j l. I already know your answer.
Again. All I was curious about. The responses of those who think he’s expendable what they would want in return. |

This is just another refusal. I will explain what a legitimate reason to trade a player is. If you think that making a trade improves your team. Maybe you have an excess in an area and you use that excess to improve in an area of weakness. As I explained to you earlier, the Flyers have Niskanen on the north side of 30 as well as Braun who is on the final year of his contract. The play of Sanheim and Myers does not give the Flyers an excess on defense. It does not make Gostisbehere expendable. Your reasoning is flawed in that respect. So then we get to your next comment which I also refuted. If you can tell me how we can trade Gostisbehere for another defenseman who is better that can improve the team, I'm all in. This is the area that I was moving you to which you bailed on.
Actually there is a need for me to respond and if you already knew the answer that I just gave, you wouldn't have made your initial post. It's actually you that didn't like my response to the original question you posed as my response pointed out how it was poorly thought out. |

Didn’t bail on a thing. Was asking people’s opinions. You stated before you wouldn’t trade him. Hence I already knew your opinion. Not sure why your always so defensive. Didn’t refuse anything. It already happened. You just want to argue. |

Yes. Kid just gets better every year. Has consistently for the last couple now. Is board play is what really makes him stand out to me. |

It’s a shame they can’t find better line mates for Hayes. |

If he isn't scoring then chances are he's probably not helping the team in any significant way. At least with G you're getting a face-off monster and a guy that can run a PP.
If Jake isn't scoring he's pretty much useless imo. Here's hoping his production doesn't fall off any time soon. |

And I still think Frost ends up being a wing in this league. |
