I think there's a case for either path, but I'd lean toward sticking with the rotation. You're right that the team should have played better in front of Varlamov. And I agree that you might as well keep rotating them while the team's flying high and riding a point streak. Don't over-manage when something's working well enough.
On the other hand, both goalies have played about the same number of minutes; three out of the team's four losses were with Varlamov in net; and, at the moment anyway, the stats aren't as evenly split among the two of them as they were last season: Greiss clearly has better numbers than Varlamov, and he's had to deal with his share of team breakdowns in front of him, too...he's made some downright spectacular saves -- sometimes a bunch in a row while under sustained pressure when no one would have faulted him for letting up a goal -- to earn the numbers he has.
Now's probably not the time to mess with things, but I think you can make a case for Greiss as starter. Definitely so if current trends continue beyond the point streak. - UIF

"Think back to the Derrick Brassard-Mika Zibanejad trade..."
Why in the world would I sign up to be the Ottawa Senators in that scenario?? |

That site is great. For a good laugh I seriously think there’s something wrong with both of the dudes that wrote for it. Like I’m not kidding. |

hey I just saw on Leafs blog you asked me why I'd want the Rangers to trade Georgiev
for a few reasons, mostly to get Shestyorkin here
I'd want the Rangers to make a killing on the Georgiev deal, I dont want to give him away
plus, Georgiev is going to get a hefty raise as a RFA next summer, Rangers wont be in a position to give him like 3-4 million while still having Lundqvist at 8.5 for 1 more year

Just my opinion, but I don't think you'd be particularly happy with the return for him. Goalies have historically not been particularly big trade pieces and haven't gotten much in return (on their own). Gorton held out for a 1st round pick for Talbot after some pretty damn strong play and they couldn't even get that for him. |

You sure it ain’t Chiarelli playing dress up as Snow? |

So far this season, Barrie has pretty much been doing this to his big UFA deal this summer:

Good. It’ll make him affordable for the Oilers. |

Pageau would be a better fit and he's on an absolute heater right now. But he'd also cost more.
I've been saying since last year how great I think he'd fit in on this team as a 3C

Do the Pens have much they can even trade at this point? |

Nah, no one will trade for him. He has 2 years left at 6 million plus.
I have a feeling The Kings and Kovy are going to come to an agreement to terminate the contract because no ones going to trade for him and that contract except for maybe Upstate |

I can't imagine they have anything left of value to trade. They have traded so many 1st rd picks in the last 6 or 7 years that when Malkin & Crosby are done in a few years its going to be a long long rebuild in Pittsburgh. Let's be honest no UFA is signing there once those two are done or in a steep decline |

Kind of figured you guys would try to retain him to play with Shestyorkin. |

If they want to take Kovy and his contract I think the Kings would be giving the Pens something |
