Well I mean do you see his face when Ron ends the show with a pun or something. He's lost. He the person is lost, not all 85 year olds ... if I didn't already pre-face my comments enough
- Sayros

You need to apologize for your previous comment because sayros took it as ageism whether you meant it that way or not.

You've completely missed the point. Don could have told everyone who didn't buy a poppy to go buy one. Instead, he signaled out immigrants because he is an idiot, has no education and blames all his problems on immigrants while conveniently forgetting that we're all immigrants. Even without the "you people" it was still disgusting. Defending him is disgusting too. Blaming on a mob of people, or social media or the "left" is just stupid.

What scares me is the ideas that being against xenophobia and racism is a left wing concept. Be better, right wing people.

- James_Tanner

Why do you keep making this about the right wing? What happened to Ek's bloggers don't bring up politics?

If you use the phrase "fake outrage" you're out of the conversation. Just because you can't comprehend someone else being upset about something you're too ignorant to care about doesn't make it fake.
- James_Tanner

I think anyone setting themselves up as the arbiter of what is allowed and not allowed in discourse should rethink their approach too.

"You're out of the conversation" is as much rhetoric as "fake outrage".

Right, because racism is a unique character trait exclusive to white people of European stock.

Imagine being that naive.

Let me guess: facts are racist too, huh...?

- BareMetal

Literally anything can be twisted (which is a normal occurrence) to be deemed racist. It’s just the way people are so they can shout racism to try to show people how morally perfect they are, even though they are most likely enormous hypocrites that have said similar things, just not while being recorded

8:00 am: I made a snowman.

8:10 - A feminist passed by and asked me why I didn't make a snow woman.

8:15 - So, I made a snow woman.

8:17 - My feminist neighbor complained about the snow woman's voluptuous chest saying it objectified snow women everywhere.

8:20 - The gay couple living nearby threw a hissy fit and moaned it could have been two snow men instead.

8:22 - The transgender man..woman...person asked why I didn't just make one snow person with detachable parts.

8:25 - The vegans at the end of the lane complained about the carrot nose, as veggies are food and not to decorate snow figures with.

8:28 - I was being called a racist because the snow couple is white.

8:31 - The Muslim gent across the road demanded the snow woman wear a burqa.

8:40 - The police arrived saying someone had been offended

8:42 - The feminist neighbor complained again that the broomstick of the snow woman needed to be removed because it depicted women in a domestic role.

8:43 - The council equality officer arrived and threatened me with eviction.

8:45 - TV news crew from CBC showed up. I was asked if I know the difference between snowmen and snow-women. I replied "Snowballs" and am now called a sexist.

9:00 - I was on the news as a suspected terrorist, racist, homophobe sensibility offender, bent on stirring up trouble during difficult weather.

9:10 - I was asked if I have any accomplices. My children were taken by social services.

9:29 - Far left protesters offended by everything marched down the street demanding for me to be beheaded.

Moral: There is no moral to this story. It is what we have become.

Satirical (mocking) - what our society has become....in a humorous way.

It’s swung too far the other way for sure but that has nothing to do with a business firing an employee for breaching contract.

Lefty/PacificGem has been involved in business long enough to know that

Yep. Fired for policy breech and potential loss of ad revenue.
So before this, there has always been talk of Don going to the HoF as a broadcaster/builder. What about now? Career minor leaguer, nhl coach, 38 years as broadcaster and hockey icon washed away?

So can tanner be fired for breaching eks policy of no politics from his bloggers? How will it affect him when it comes time for him to enter the HoF? These are the real questions.

Yes I am very outraged by his breaching of eks policy. Clearly he must be given the boot or I will be forced to continue to cry and whine like a child until I get my way

"Canada continues to believe strongly in embracing immigrants and when you walk around Toronto or Vancouver you truly see a melting pot with well-dressed business people of all nationalities working side-by-side and making huge contributions."

I spend a lot of time in the six & i have to agree. Most are busy & productive.
No Canadian i know would ask or expect an immigrant to forget where they came from so why is it acceptable for them to forget where they are ?
Buy a damn poppy & embrace the culture, that's all Grapes was saying.
Maybe I'll move to Iran or China & walk the streets in a thong & a toque with a Timmies in my hand while challenging their laws & ignoring their traditions and see how long i survive.

For someone who has directed his staff not to engage in political conversations within their columns, you sure jumped into this one. Not just a little, but you unleashed a "manifesto", you had a "Jerry Mcguire" moment where your wokeness couldn't contain itself. A diatribe with dated quotes to viscerally attack a man with different opinions than yours, a diatribe steeped in political correctness that exhibits a post modern neo Marxist ideology which created an environment of intolerance for those with divergent beliefs. Your hypocrisy is amusing, you Sir, have now effectively "politicized" hockeybuzz.

Yeah it’s the most hypocritical poop ever but sadly it’s becoming common practice. Being a college student myself i see it myself of professors trying to push their liberal views on their young students and try to get them to become emotionally sensitive people who need to cry out that they are victims. Essentially college is a breeding ground for producing fake outrage liberals
- Richieattack18

I know we are rivals but I must say that you and I, as well as some of the other Flyer posters here, are for once on the same team. Try to get Ben Shapiro to come to your school. He will certainly shake them up!!

So what you’re saying is you’d rather live in a country that forces you to dress in a certain way.

Wonder how the freedom fighting soldiers that fought in the world wars would feel about that.

Give me a break. It would be pretty weird if we didn't cover this, and besides the point when you attack someone or condemn them for racism or xenophobia you are not attacking or condemning someone with a "different opinion than you are" you are condemning something that is wrong.

If you can't see the difference, you shouldn't be talking at all.

I'd also like to point out that you clearly do not know what post-modernism is, nor do you know what Marxism is. You can't just use big phrases to make it seem like you made a smart post.

And finally, if being anti-racism creates an intolerant environment for people who have different beliefs, then good. That's what we're going for - at least I hope it is.

The issue with that is liberals are completely intolerant to opposing views and will just protest and interrupt and make a scene trying to cancel him. Making the large majority of people listening to him would be from already conservative people.

No matter how well intended that is, that's straight totalitarianism. Because getting that right means having an objective definition of racism.

Which even Cherry's comments wouldn't be considered racist, rather ethnocentric. There wasn't a belief, in these comments of superiority on race, but superiority based upon practice. That's a careful distinction we need to make that it appears, you are not.
