Team is certainly a head shaker at this point. Hard to watch by times. Babs said in the post presser that the 20 game measuring stick is nearing. So what will all of that mean? Trades? - Leafsmart
We can't make trades. We have no one to trade. Kyle's not moving the big money guys, and everyone else makes minimum wage, so who we trading for? |

I dont think this is only an issue of ‘trying’. Obviously guys like Willy need to stop the fly-by stick checks. I think its the system they play. Trotz plays the exact opposite system, everyone back playing defence. You cant teach players talent. We have loads of that. You CAN teach simple defensive structure... - Hockey_Reverend
Babcock never once coached that way in Detroit. Why did he change? |

So what’s the one constant? Not the players. Not the assistant coaches. Not the GM. - Steven_Seagull
Actually, one of the constant are several players |

Post game interviews are where its at
- Fakepartofme
I stopped listening to those a decade ago.
Are they any different these days?
Maybe analytics have crept into post game interviews? |

Team is in between what they want to do and what they have to do according to babs systems. It’s a complete cluster (frank)....
Also that is probably the worst ice I’ve seen in awhile and I’ve seen a lot of leaf home games.
It neuters skilled teams and benefits hard working teams which isn’t a good for the leafs. |

Well our next game features two teams both staggering a bit. Just might be the medicine to point the ship in the right direction. |

Seriously though.
Why the (frank) has Matthews/Marner/JT/Rielly not done well on the PP?
That is a recipe for success.
So not an ounce of this is on coaching? |

It’s sorta everything, I think..
But it all ties back to the style of team Dubas built.

Yeah, the ice was so bad it made the Leafs garbage ice look decent. |
