Seriously though.

Why the (frank) has Matthews/Marner/JT/Rielly not done well on the PP?

That is a recipe for success.

So not an ounce of this is on coaching?

- Santo_44

Good point. Babs 20 game stick has to include both assist. coaches as well as roster. Haskol is one who makes me nervous. Plenty to do on the PK for sure too.

It’s sorta everything, I think..

But it all ties back to the style of team Dubas built.

Huh? The 3 years that Lou was GM, Babs didn’t do poop. He hasn’t done poop since 2012.

Leafs pp is the definition of insanity. Keep doing the same thing expecting a different outcome.

Who’s job is it to address the team’s needs?

Also, if it’s Babs fault, and Dubas hasn’t fired Babs yet, then isn’t it on Dubas for not firing him?

I want Barrie switched with Rielly.

But even just some sort of change.

I get that every NHL teams do the same PP/PK structure these days but I feel like every play is the same.

Dubas wanted to. Babs is done either mid-season or immediately following another first round exist.

Wasn’t there a whisper that Dubas wanted to fire Babs after playoffs but Shanny said no?

I honestly think Dubas can’t fire Babcock on his own. It’s more of a committee thing, and Babcock might actually be apart of the committee lol

He deserves more of a leash...he gets the rest of this road trip so 10 more games.

I'd even try Dermott there too. Once he gets up to game speed in a bit. Although he's looked really good after just a few games.

I don’t know if Dermott is really ever going to be a good PP guy.

Likely a PK guy.

Oh..

There’s always some loophole as to why nothing is Dubas’s fault. His glasses must have some superpower that allows his to evade any blame.

I think he has till Christmas. If the team isn’t on the upswing then they’ll can him. Need time to adjust to a new coach without jeopardizing playoffs this year, and this is a playoff caliber team.
If Tippett can change the oilers like that, surely a competent coach can get these guys back on track.

Think he's got plenty of potential yet. Stepped up in the play the other night and pumped one home.

yup.

Shanahan and Babcock are the committee. Its actually pretty simple I believe...

who hired Babcock?
probably the same guy would have to fire him.... and that ain't Pointdexter

Dubas is just the scapegoat in case the evil Babs/Shanny plan goes awry..
