If your not playing for the playoffs , what a waste of a year ..
When you buy Trouba ,Panarin & bring top young talent along ,Buchny Chtyl Howden Lemeiux AdA ...mix that with some top goalie play ,solid vet type support Krieds Fast Strome Shey Mika and alot of rooks in 4 playing 3 on D Fox Lindgen Hijak wing KK
I dont care analytics , they are learning how to play in NHL & are winning at the same time, yes there will be lapses now but as season progress's i sense a responsible team i havne t seen around here . sticking to D Q's ways to play they are having great periods like the 1st last nite , its just a mater of time the seasoning ,familiarity will bring steadiness and stability , unless the fatigue out due to length of season or wear & tear i sense a team building in only 1 direction now... when Mika is back , they will have a real top 6 with a very supportive hold there own bottom 6
Its the Defense that gonna be the glue or undoing , watching Fox is a version of Leetch & Hijak /Lindgren have the same look when G came from nowwhere to stay for 10 yrs on our back line , i hope its not just twinkle or glimmer but the real deal with them . I want and hope the P O 's are there come trade line , dont know what will come or go but i'm bettin on blue shirts |

that point would be it's senseless for somebody to attempt to have an intelligent hockey conservation with you
having a fit everytime you see Panarin wearing a Ranger sweater is ground for being admitted to Bellevue - jimbo83
I dont have a fit watching Panarin wearing the Rangers sweater.
First off you dont engage in any type of intelligent hockey conversation, your statement saying that I have a fit every time I see Panarin wearing a Ranger sweater is ground for being admitted to Bellevue is of course belittling.
I said the timing of signing him wasnt good because of the cap hit. Mismanagement led to the Shatty buyout wasting cap space and an asset. You see it one way I see it another. I know where you are coming from, but you dont see where I am.
After watching him, its pretty amazing just what kind of play maker he is. I wonder what kind of center he would make.
I do like some of your comments though. Too bad you are just one way Jimbo. |

Not to mention calling for the head of the coach who has instilled the current work ethic and accountability that is starting to pay dividends. - Tonybere
Ive never questioned DQ. Team is rebuilding and JUST started the second season under a head coach who has 82 games under his belt. Just as the young players he coaches, he will also make mistakes as a head coach. Its all a part of growing. |

No its not. You specifically said the playoffs wouldn't be good for the kids. So if you were one of those kids playing, you would think the playoffs was a bad thing? |

Really the problem no one here agrees with a lot of what you say, spirited debate always happens here, you then however start calling people names and intellectually inferior because we don't think the way you do. |

Its always nice to dream about making the playoffs, but stop, its a pipe dream. Winning a few games in the beginning of the season is sweet but the reality is these kids havent played more than 4 games in a season ever, against men. Last season they stated out well and hit the skids in late November. They will probably wear down and sometime in Jan and February have a stat pack of 7 wins in 19 games. It will be an up and down season for sure. The team defense is ridiculously young and Brady is a train wreck. Aside from Staal and Brady the defense looks like they have a bright future. Nobody should want to make the playoffs now. We are rebuilding. They will go nowhere if they make the playoffs. I dont want to hear about St Louis. St Louis had a good team on paper, they just didnt have a goalie who could stop a puck. Once they brought up Binnington and he started to make saves, they won. Different situation here. - Brukie

Yes
Take the higher draft pick.
And no playing a few games in the playoffs doesnt constitute getting playoff experience. They arent expected to win so they dont have any pressure. They will probably lose in the first round and will not experience any type of grind. You gained playoff experience by grinding it out and playing those tough games. Playimng a few games and losing isnt anything but losing. - Brukie

Well if I was a young player in the league and I didnt make the playoffs, it woudnt be the end of the world because you have to learn to win in order to appreciate it. Making it the first year you are playing can have a negative affect also. As a kid, you get something the first time you ask for it, you become spoiled. You would think you are entitled to it. Missing the playoffs would hopefully spark and have the kids appreciate the hard work it takes to get there.
Yes Im sorry but not making the playoffs this year will help the organization. The kids will realize its an 82 game grind and they will better prepare themselves for the following seasons and the organization will have better draft picks. |

What would we be watching this year so far without Panarin? Just curious. |
