Playing with the best teams will make them better and work harder and want to succeed - blueshirts_fan
Also think it will go along way to make this team see themselves as a group that will grow together and fight for each other |

Well if I was a young player in the league and I didnt make the playoffs, it woudnt be the end of the world because you have to learn to win in order to appreciate it. Making it the first year you are playing can have a negative affect also. As a kid, you get something the first time you ask for it, you become spoiled. You would think you are entitled to it. Missing the playoffs would hopefully spark and have the kids appreciate the hard work it takes to get there.
Yes Im sorry but not making the playoffs this year will help the organization. The kids will realize its an 82 game grind and they will better prepare themselves for the following seasons and the organization will have better draft picks. - Brukie
Disagree. I think they get a taste it makes them come together and play even harder the next year.imo |

Ive never questioned DQ. Team is rebuilding and JUST started the second season under a head coach who has 82 games under his belt. Just as the young players he coaches, he will also make mistakes as a head coach. Its all a part of growing. - Brukie
And I never said that you did. I was responding to TPC about people in general who are complaining that Quinn should go because we have had growing pains so far this season. |

What would we be watching this year so far without Panarin? Just curious. - evitageN
I dont know, there are so many channels to choose from nowadays. It would be your choice.
But if you mean how would the Rangers team look without Panarin, who knows, at this point it doesnt matter. He is here, he makes the team better. |

Elliotte Friedman’s 31 Thoughts:
16. The Rangers sent out a tweet from their “Stats & Info” account that got me thinking. They referenced Anthony DeAngelo, and the fact he’s got 30 points in his last 41 games — including 14 so far in 2019-20. He was a nomad, three organizations in his first three seasons, and the Rangers have done an excellent job with him. It will be interesting to see where this goes. DeAngelo did not sign until Sept. 20, despite not having much leverage. This summer, however, he will have arbitration rights and these numbers are going to look nice.
The Rangers have got some talented young puck-movers. If you don’t believe me, watch how Adam Fox reads Bryan Rust on the overtime winner Tuesday night. |

They need to keep Tony D. Don't know if Nils would be ready next year, and that right side would get thin again if they didn't re-sign him. Unless they think Keane could step right in |

We could both be right. Would it be fun to watch the team in the playoffs and steal a round?? Of course, maybe even steal a first round win but long term I would rather have better picks at the draft.
Look at the past few years, the Devils made it with a young team and didnt make it back the following year, Same with the Oilers. I think making it and being able to sustain it is better than a one trick pony. |

Does anybody know why Zib is not on IR, being out several games and at least two ones ahead? |

if that makes you feel better and fits your paradigm sure, but generally speaking I don't condescend to anyone. |

it's not just one guy, the team makes the player better, so you kind of have to broaden the scope |

I don't know. Hischier has already put up 52 and 47 points as an 18-19 year old. Having a slow start this year, but I would be thrilled with any of them |

I'm aware of that, but where is the advantage for the NYR? Do they get $100K bonus directly from Gary for placing him on IR the Very(!) last day?
The guys who have him in their fantasy teams (and love him like their son...) CAN'T retro play those 10 games...
Oh, and i want to greet my buddy Schweiny, who strangely(!) lures often here in this thread. |

That argument is not fair for NJ. They didn't make it back for a second years because they were missing their MVP 1st line player for 40 some odd games. |

I really just don't think they've known how long he was going to be out, he was skating in a non contact jersey with the team a few practices
I think they thought there was a chance he could come back at anytime |
