Sidney Crosby is considering sports hernia surgery which would keep him out another 4-6 weeks. This time would also allow the undisclosed injury that kept him out of last nights game to presumably heal. He has been battling the hernia since training camp... - TommyGTrain
Didn't Burgeron play entire season with sport's hernia? That is nuts!!! |

No chance I would take Kovy over Smith. Smith is being like a guy who wants to stay in the league and the lineup. He wants to help the team win.
He may never be as good as he once was but Kovy will definitely never be a shadow of what he once was and with his world class talent faded he is 100% baggage. |

would you guys do this trade of Brendan Smith for Ilya Kovalchuk?
Kings retain 2 million of Kovalchuk's cap hit
they both have two years left on their deals
basically the money would stay the same as it is now, Rangers on the hook for like a 4.2 million cap hit, Kings still on hook for total of 6.2 million hit - jimbo83

I do not like the idea of signing a guy over 35 that cap hit is just alive forever. I think it screws over 35 year olds, who probably can only get 1 year deals unless you're Kovalchuk and a few others.
They need to fix that in next CBA. Weird rule. |

Well if I was a young player in the league and I didnt make the playoffs, it woudnt be the end of the world because you have to learn to win in order to appreciate it. Making it the first year you are playing can have a negative affect also. As a kid, you get something the first time you ask for it, you become spoiled. You would think you are entitled to it. Missing the playoffs would hopefully spark and have the kids appreciate the hard work it takes to get there.
Yes Im sorry but not making the playoffs this year will help the organization. The kids will realize its an 82 game grind and they will better prepare themselves for the following seasons and the organization will have better draft picks. - Brukie
I have read a lot of dumb shyt on here but this one def tops the cake. How can them making the playoffs ever be a negative things for this young team learning to win in this league. If they go out in the first round that would make them even hungrier to go further and learn. Gaining valuable experience at such an early stage in there careers is something you can’t teach. I honestly hope they make it and will remain hopeful. I can see Hank carrying them towards the end as they are not playing him as much in the early going’s here. This team has nothing to lose and everything to gain if they make the playoffs. |

Amen. Last I checked, the kids aren't asking for the playoffs and being given them. They need to earn them. Nothing but positives if we make it. |

The thing with Burkie, is that 1 i don't really think he likes hockey or the Rangers. 2 IF you disagree with him it constitutes attacking him, or so I gathered. |
