And exciting game at least. I thought the main guys looked good, Nylander with a brilliant pass, Strome playing well, Kane, ADB, CDH, and of course Crow. Zach Smith has looked better lately, looking especially good last night. Hope he continues.

I never knew McNabb was such a wiener. He badly slashes Cat and Cat takes exception, but it was his shot to Dach's head that really irritated me. Someone needs to punch that (frank)er in the face.

The Hawks need to recall Sikura and reunite him with Saad and Toews, that will get the offense going.

I hope people are joking about bringing back Ladd...he’s beyond washed up. We need more speed, so if anything calling up Sikura wouldn’t be a bad idea depending on how long Drake is out.

But please no Ladd

As for Boqvist I really wish they’d keep him around, send Koekkoek down and rotate Seabs/Gus as the #6/7 defenseman. That’s how impressive Boqvist has been and that’s how much we need his mobility. But it is what it is. Murphy coming back will be HUGE.

And I’ll say it again PUT DACH ON THE TOP LINE WITH TOEWS AND SAAD.

We've gotten some amazing goaltending from both of our netminders ... but is it a trend that can stay as lights out as it has been? Don't get me wrong, I'm cheering the loudest at these victories & points we're collecting. It just doesn't seem sustainable to me. The shots against need to go down, & both guys need to stay sharp & healthy.

Agree here but it's doable. If we had a Lehner last year we might have won 5-6 more games, enough to make the big dance.

Caggiula concussion protocol seemed just precautionary, so he could be off of it by Saturday.

Even if not, I wouldn't bet on them calling someone up. BUT if they do, I'd say Wedin or Highmore.

I believe they're pretty bearish on Dylan Sikura having an NHL future.

Wonder what he has heard? And, whether it's 'they' or 'JC'

Holy wth happened there? has his play really fallen off that much?
- SaskHawkFan

Torn acl didn"t play much last season. The Islanders GM, Lamorello, said that he does not see enough as in an NHL player after Ladd just completed a five game conditioning stint with their AHL affiliate.

In the story I saw Ladd's contract is called one of the worse in hockey. The contract was signed July 1 2016 and has another four years remaining.....three more after this season at $5.5 mill. And so I ask, how is his skating? I believe he is 33 years old.

Without a doubt there have been flurries of shots from high danger areas against the Hawks, but i didn't see many chances down broadway. Or no one between the forward and the goalie.

I loved those 2 goals by the Hawks dmen last night, go low with puck, goalie has to honor that, pass to center ice middle of offer 20 feet away, the net had to look huge for both dmen, no way MAF can come out and take space away

I’m guessing that’s a misprint. Stadium ice was 185’ long. Same as the surface in Boston and NY before the rehabs. I believe the Hawks were the last team to go to a “full sized” sheet.

Well glad that they got that difficult first win against the Knights.

Hopefully Rinne's comments something along the lines of never having such an easy game will inspire a win on Saturday.

The Hawks are playing the way they need to win, the stars carrying the team with some support, well at least Kane, Kat and Strome carrying the team.

Would like to see Tazer capitalize more on grade A chances, he's on the pace for a 30-35 point season this year. But part of it might be having an inconsistent Nylander on his line making it essentially a Saad-Toews line.

- Popsghostly

Come on now. Let's not blame a 21 year old Nylander for Toews struggles. Nylander has been solid but I think he needs to spend some time in the bottom 6 bum slaying for a bit. Seems to have lost some confidence and that 2 way play from earlier in the year.

Toews struggles are because of Toews not his linemates. He is supposed to drive a line not have 2 guys driving it for him.

Yes we have gotten some great goaltending. Just need to keep winning some games, no need to worry about teams in front of us, Hawks have to worry about their games, keep winning and things will fall into place. It’s still early so standings don’t matter that much, except to certain posters, and very interesting but they’re not posting standings anymore

Does anyone remember what the Amphitheatre was when the Cougars played there? All I remember was it was teeny tiny.

Nylander - Dach - ???

Would be a great 3rd Line with the right partner. Someone who can be creative and score goals.

Laad looked slow in 2016 when the Hawks acquired him.... he would make Seabrook look like a solid skater.

Shaw if Shaw was playing well but he has been playing like poop the last 5-8 games. Barely notice him on the ice except for mixing it up in a post whistle scrum.

Actually wouldn't mind if Sikura got a look for a few games. Think Shaw could use a night in the press box anyways.

Similar to what we are seeing with the Hawks' opponents shot metrics...very interesting

Sure the Cougars games were fun. Loyola basketball in the mid 80s was my last memory of the Amp.

Watched the game from last night my god are the hawks dreadful at defense. Turnovers missed assignments out of position and being out muscled for the majority of the game. Hawks got lucky to win that game. Another 30 plus shots again and least 15 high danger shots against. Also hawks are soft as charmin tp my god dach better stop putting himself in bad situations or will be on ir soon. No physicality to their game. I ll stop now.
