It wasn't Nylander's inconsistency that made Toews make the most egregious turnover of the night in the offensive zone that Crow had to bail him out 170 feet away.

Egregious is a perfect adjective for that turnover. Speed/skill goes into slumps but IQ rarely does and too many of Johnny's decisions are in a slump. A vet of 10 yrs, 3 cups, head up makes an unforced error of passing east-west 10 feet inside the attack blueline. The kind of play as Edzo would say you tell a rookie he needs to be 125% sure of let alone a 10 yr 3 time cup champ.

Some bad stick penalties too. Johnny is pressing, trying too hard.

That's likely the deal though I thought he looked decent the last few games. Was hoping for the same as you when the trade was made and I didn't have the Sense games on heavy rotation last year to still know if he was any good or not.

Think he's fine on the 4th line or as a 13th fwd and as Mo's mentioned if they buy him out at the end of the year he only counts as a little more than a million against the Cap next year.

I think. I could be wrong and I'm only going by what Mo says, so if it's not true, I blame him!

Ive noticed he plays a much better game if he's engaged, meaning when he plays tough in the corners, willing to have physical contact in his game, he did that bullpoop the other night where he's pressing the puck then peels off thinking he's going to intercept the pass, when him and other forwards do that it drives me (frank)ing crazy, then my wife says you know they can't hear you

Such a finger-pointing blamer.....

Buying him out this summer would involve a cap hit of $1,083,333 for the next 2 years. I don't think they will do that unless they need the cap space. After replacing him with Highmore, the cap savings would only be about $1.5M.

Actually, if Smith is bought out next year he carries a 1M cap hit for 20-21 AND 21-22.

Was going to point out the same thing but I see you did. You always have to factor in the cost of the replacement player when you calculate the true annual cap cost of a player who is bought out.

If it was inaccurate I was totally going to report you. I'm sure you could be held liable through some misinterpretation of the COC.
