I watched Kovalchuk play. Its very evident he is past his prime.....a non contributor. Any team thinking he will change his spots are foolish.

If JR can swing Kovy half retained for JJ and a B prospect I would be pretty excited.

He could be the missing link to the Pens PP. Worst case scenario, cap hit would be no different than JJ and for fewer years. Worth a shot.
