He got stronger as the game went on which is understandable, I like his offensive game during the pre-season as well. He seemed calmer with the puck. He's definitely an upgrade for the 2nd PP unit. I'd still like to see Myers on that unit though. - Nucker101
I think BAear has a role on this team...

True. Edler is the oppositions best penalty killer. Off it would be better. At least he is only getting a 25 sec PP shift now instead of 90 secs.
- boonerbuck
I don't recall Edler ever sifting the puck through to the front of the net... it's like he doesn't think to try and get the puck in the goalchie crease region... just keeps banging it off the other guys shin, skate, or other body part if he isn't head hunting our own guys...
Myers, Hughes, Stecher at least try to get the puck to the goalchie crease for a tip in or shot on net.... |

6 points in 9 NHL games this season playing in the bottom 6, I'm not really sure what else he has to do to play full time over Eriksson. - Codes1087
Eriksson should never play another game with the Nux…. the guy has been worse than useless... he's taking up a spot from a guy that would actually do something useful every so often... |

Once in awhile he’ll take a onetime slapshot but once he holds onto the puck it’s basically a shot into the defender’s shin pads, a puck shot intentionally wide, or a pass into the feet of the sidewall forward
Myers at least moves his feet a bit and way less reluctant to shoot one timers. |

Edler's movement on the PP is nothing more than slowly gliding towards the shins he's about to bounce the puck off of. Zero lateral movement across the blue line. Doesnt move to create shooting lanes... just waits it out hoping one creates itself.

imagine not using him on PP2 when you see what PP2 trots out there... Oh Newell - DrChristianTroy
Ya that darn Newell and coaching the team to leading the league in powerplay goals. What an idiot |

Isles giving Tavares the "we don't need you" chant after Laffs score own goal with goalie drawn. Then Tavares scores to make it 5-4 with 37.5 seconds but still lose again
Meanwhile Devils with Blackwood at home choke against Sens of all teams. Canucks should take note ignore the hype believe you can score and make it happen. |

Honestly, I hate the Leafs, but, John Tavares is a great player and by all indications a good person. So the Islanders are butt-hurt he left, big deal, he’s still a great player.
On a side note, if the Leafs could play as a team like the Islanders do they’d be a lot better off. |
