It's is still a transitional year, and I think they have a solid leader in Ralphie-boy that hopefully can mold the on-ice leadership properly.
Going into this year, I was focused on the players representing the future of the team...to see if they take the next step forward. So far it has been mixed results. Jack, Sam, Joker, Skinner have met expectations. Dahlin has been a big disappointment, Mitts is so very inconsistent, and VO has fallen off after a great start on the PP. Those last couple of guys are those I want to see up their game.
Miller, Johansson, Montour are generally playing well.
The rest of the players I hope pick up their play to increase any trade value they may have.

I'm more interested to see how this plays out across the whole season. Still a young team and none of us thought they would've started the way they did.

I'd be very, very surprised...but if they crash and burn like they did last year it is certainly very possible.
The next month should be telling in terms of moves made or not made. If he can't bring in the right couple of F's to bring positive contributions, then there will be a case to question his viability.

It's looking that way. He has made the worst trade in Sabres History in Trading O'Reilly and he made NO trade to recover from that one. Let that sink in.

There is NO second line center on this team and No 2nd line RW. You can't compete in this league like that.

None of us expected that either

Goals Against - Tied for 3rd in East, tied for 5th in league...albeit having played 1 to 3 games less so far...but at roughly 2.8GA/Gm, they would still be a bout 1 - 2 spots lower when adjusted for games played.

Goals For - 11th in East, 21st in league...adjusting for games played doesn't impact that, maybe a slot.

I'm sure the Advanced Stats will point to the same issues.

Freddie's system seems to be working well on the defensive side.
I'd say the talent on the Offensive side is thd real issue.
When you have Sobotka, Okposo, Girgs, Larson, Vesey, Sheary on your roster, that is 50% of your forward ranks contributing relatively ZERO to the Offesive production.
THAT is the issue, period.

Yup, they reverted back to their old ways.its been like that since the rangers game and even a little before that.

They haven’t played a good game since the stars game.
