Cool, thanks for that as I missed the AV part.

TBH , I dont have an issue with the shorter bench last night and ideally it lights a fire under 49.

It's damn exciting to have a coach like AV and a coaching staff with the credentials this team currently has.

Yeah.. I have no issue with this for Farabee. I was however thinking we might see him as one of the shooters after his effort in Boston.

Well, I did say that he was horrible, played poorly, was a defensive disaster, and couldn't handle the puck to save his life.
- jmatchett383[/sarcasm]

I said that he seems to lack confidence when given the opportunity to shoot but that he hasn't been bad overall. I don't get how this turns into me saying he's bad, since I explicitly stated "Ghost didn't have a bad game."

I don't think either of us meant to peg you as negging Ghost - again, maybe I'm riding this streak a little high right now, but I'm really happy with how Ghost is playing.

My only real disagreement with you is that I AM seeing him as being very confident lately. I think a lot of it (as someone earlier mentioned) comes down to his decreased load, which is a credit to the corps as a whole.

We finally have a solid top 6 again, and it shows when puck handlers like Ghost can focus on their "niche"

Besides TK, both PP units passed up a lot of shots in search of the perfect setup, I understand at times but when you are moving the puck around for 40 seconds and you don't get a shot off it's a bit aggravating.

I had no issue with the shooters, Jake had Holtby beat and as much as he is predictable (swinging in from the right) he has had success at times, Giroux should 100% shoot every shootout he's the most skilled guy on the team, and Coots, need the 3C going!

I see him confident in his skating, passing, and defense, I just think he doesn't trust his shot right now. I should have been more explicit that my confidence issue was related to his shooting. Just my opinion.

For the record, I'm not a "SHOOOOOOOT" guy. No point in taking a shot that's going to hit a guy in the shin pads and go the other way. I just thought he passed up at least 2 good looks last night and had a few shots that he did take flub off his stick, like he is literally gripping it too tightly.

He definitely isn't ripping it very much anymore. Don't think I've seen him unleash a real slapper since he scored that goal.

With that said, his overall game has improved substantially. He's back to being right at the knife's edge of risk, and that's where he needs to be. He's been pulling his weight defensively. And he's never stopped being good in transition.

Me neither but like i said, if you move it around for 40 seconds there needs to be a shot, can't always wait for the perfect play, especially with JVR in front, couple tip in goals would help get him going. We have one of the best in tight goal scorers on the PP and we aren't shooting.

I would have been ok letting farabee go again over Jake although he's not that bad and did have Holtby beat.

Man.. G had a real chance to shoot in the 3rd and looked for the pass that was deflected by the d man's stick. He REALLY needs to shoot that.

They could try moving him to the wall on the PP, should be less bodies in the way there. I remember him being a really effective one-time option from there earlier in his career.

I know the exact play you're talking about (I think) and agree, was saying to my friend he needs to take the shot.

Agreed. With no Patrick and Laughton they are playing shorthanded so Andreoff and Twaryzinski aren't going to see the ice much in close games late in the third period. They really need Laughton back soon.

We all would’ve love the 2 points but I can’t be too unhappy with a point and keeping one the league’s best offenses to 1 goal. Go Flyers!
- Sublime55

This was my point last night. I wasn’t and I’m not impressed by the Boston victory because I felt like they had more to give but last night, I felt Washington was really trying and we defended them well.

You said he should sit out a game. That's the same thing. I think you got it wrong for some reason in looking at his play.

That's really the point. Gostisbehere's game is trending forward significantly. Not the time to sit him a game for an inferior player.

Very difficult for a player who played one shift in the 3rd and none in the OT to suddenly be thrust back in the game in a pressure spot.

I said he could probably use a game to readjust wrt his shooting, but that "I'm not saying trade him or play Hagg for him." So unless there is a better option (and there isn't currently), while he could probably use it (IMHO), I'm not advocating that he should.

Edit: Nevermind.

He certainly doesn't seem to be uncorking that big shot as much as he used to. I wonder if they've simply wanted him to play a more controlled game. I've said all along it appears to me that it's a confidence thing.
- Hextall271

i saw an interview where Ghost said he hasn't had the shooting lanes (paraphrasing)
