Sports Net power rankings have Flyers #6. I realize this is pretty meaningless but when was the last time they were ranked anywhere near that high on any poll? |

We all would’ve love the 2 points but I can’t be too unhappy with a point and keeping one the league’s best offenses to 1 goal. Go Flyers! - Sublime55
A culture change has been EVERYTHING in my eyes.
Good job to everybody, we can finally realistically look to the next step of getting back in playoff position.

Maybe for a hot minute during one of their few winning streaks the last few years, but yeah other than that it was probably when Pronger and Briere were still here. |

What doesn't make sense about Ghost taking a game off to re-adjust? Isn't it you who said that Hakstol knew what he was doing by sitting our younger players here and there, that it actually helped their development?
Or are you saying something else entirely didn't make sense? - sjk540
Here is what I didn't say. I didn't say to randomly sit a player to readjust that doesn't need to sit out to readjust. To sit a player whose game is trending in a positive direction every game. Gostisbehere is also a veteran currently playing in his 5th NHL season. I understand that you have an agenda here and if I have to I'll explain a simple concept but there's better conversations to be had.
What I mostly said was that matchett's comments on Gostisbehere were off base in my opinion. |

Funny. I just read those rankings and asked myself the same thing. I can't think of the last time I saw them in the top 10 in one of those. |

I won't. I see that I have to be entirely explicit in my words otherwise people can pick my entire post apart and twist one phrase into a completely different argument. And I'm just done caring about dealing with that. - jmatchett383
I was at a training for the day and just caught up on this board. I knn no ow what you saying man. In more ways than one. Yeah ghost isn’t pulling the trigger or letting it rip. I agree. He will hesitate and double clutch a lot giving time for the shooting lanes to close. He’s been getting better but still I get it. I feel brain did better in his first couple games when he was just keeping it simple. I also completely agree that he is not playing with confidence. Myers is playing with confidence. It’s playing not thinking it too much. His preseason was different. When he scored the other night he held and moved into the lane as it was opening. Not head on a swivel going shot pass shot. |

took my 11 year old to his lesson today, came out and there was Adam Oates.
Adam looked at Christian and said "hey you were the kid pooping in the bathroom earlier"...
LOL pretty funny shxt - wcorvette
Clearly a hindsight perspective but kinda weird we didn’t keep Oates the following season after giving up assets to get him and trading for Amonte and Zhamnov 1 and 2 seasons later. Great playmaker, great faceoff man. |

The Flyers traded a 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and Max Ouellette for a guy that played 14 regular season and 5 playoff games total. Those were the days. |

He's probably done for the year if not for life.
The real question is will the courts get involved? Apparently there were officers in the locker rooms after the game.
I don't get why the Browns were upset, as they were the ones knocking players out with head shots all game long. |

There is no question that Gostisbehere is improving and feeling a lot more confident. He's again making the individual moves and using his lateral ability to evade players and create openings for himself. I think where some are confused is that Gostisbehere is being more selective in his shot and not shooting when he doesn't have a lane. Which leads to blocked shots, turnovers adn zone clears on the PP. That's an obvious result of coaching. As I said in previous posts, the tell tail sign is that the coach had Gostisbehere out late in the game in a 1-1 tie. That shows trust. Gostisbehere's play is trending significantly for the positive. |

this is the NFL so he'll probably get 3 games and a stern warning not to do it again |
