Yes, you are right.
Go look up goaltender stats.
He is 31st I believe in sv% and 27th in GAA
Bottom line. - Aetherial
You blame it all on Andy? I think our tenders have been hung out to dry a lot this year...not saying there hasn’t been any softies but I’ve seen a lot of easy cross ice passes opening up our tender for easy goals. |

Uh, I think I have been pretty clear what I believe the issue is.
Andersen is just one of the problems. The fact is, he has sucked this year as bad as most of the rest of the team.
Your "evidence" is anecdotal (I don't disagree ) but there have also been untimely sofites pretty much every game I watch.

Its funny, youve got the dreggers of the world acknowledging the comments made by button that the team has looked kind of bad since last xmas... but at the start of the season EVERYONE of the TSN crew minus craig button had the leafs a shoe in for the playoffs and a contender. Button was one of the only guys to say the leafs would fight for the wildcard spot.
At the end of the day if the leafs miss the playoffs, what does this say about the hockey experts. People are going to make mistakes. But its only now that the experts are talking about the warts of the team that have been there for everyone to see since last year? Terrible....
Anyone that said the leafs would fight for a playoff spot based on the hard evidence was called a troll or what ever else you can fit in there by almost every leaf fan on the planet.
This is one thing you could chalk up, that you could see coming!
I like lots of this team, its a fun team to cheer for despite my favorite team, but now that the proof is in the pudding, the rose colored glasses and the homer takes by supposed pros i hope calms down. The jeff oneils of the world will never admit it, but his take on how the leafs would do was based on his love for the team and not any sound credible take.
Hate to say it, but button looks like a hockey savant. - munky123

I disagree with the 3rd paragraph, the leafs are continually dumped on by media and analyst. Heck even Jeff O'neill does as well. - Fakepartofme
O'Neill is probably one of the harshest guys on the Leafs, really. Because he's a Leafs fan and he doesn't like what he sees. |

Yeah, a guy who scores more than a goal a game in the OHL. That would be nice. - Steven_Seagull
Probably be a waste of a draft pick to take a guy like that. |

I guess we’ll disagree on the amount of softies.

It seems so weird that we have a team full of high skill guys like Matthews and nylander and marner and rielly and Barrie and they all being told to slow down, play conservative, safe.
This team has proven that they are at their best playing high pace high tempo creative exciting hockey. - burn
Because other teams in the div have as much or money talent. And playing run and gun hasn't panned out for the Leafs, certainly not with one of the weakest d cores in the div.
Honestly, the biggest problem is they are absolute pussies. Softest team in the NHL. Skills great and all, but like we have seen, other teams will simply hit them into submission. I have never seen this soft of a Leaf team in my life. They play a euro wussy game. |

Not sure why everyone is screaming to trade for him. He's been dog poop on a rangers team that's above .500 |

First Schenn scored and then Tampa got a 2 minute 5 on 3 and scored twice. NYR followed that up by letting a guy in on a breakaway soon after.
Poor guy. |

I think the thought is that he usually plays his ass off against the Leafs, so maybe he can do it for the Leafs. |

As for the special teams. I don’t know what Hakstol’s responsibilities are with the Leafs. But the Flyers had very good PK and PP for many years. They both went on a steady downward spiral under his watch for 4 years and were at rock bottom of the league when he was fired. One year later, Flyers have made a complete turnaround and are working their way up steadily towards the top PP and PK. Good luck with Hakstol, you are going to need it. |

It's probably just a coincidence. Apparantly our assistant coaches don't do anything. It's all Babcock |

No they don't.
No said anything about run and gun? |
