This team is way too talented to be this bad. They look like crap playing babs system/style then when they decide to play they're dominant. If this coach can't get this team to play 60mins a game then it's time to move on. It almost looks like they've tuned him out or something. How else to you explain this?

I thought babs is here for the full year and then decision made at the end of the year based on how the year went. If this continues he doesn't last much longer. It's a mess right now. The leafs are constructed a certain way but babs is stubbornly trying to put square peg in round hole. His usage continues to baffle.

Why on earth did the leafs acquire a dynamic fast paced puck carrying dman then tell him to slow down and not play him oh the pp? It looks like babs is deliberately sabotaging this team.

Why is up to the coach to get professional adults to play 60 mins of hockey?
Its on the players. They need to be responsible and take ownership of their lazy play

Quit putting the full blame on the coach. The players need to wake the fack up. If they cant play for babs, then move them.

And maybe babs as well.

Another problem is Andersen is one of the most overrated goaltenders in the league, buts leaf fans won't admit that....

The raps have no superstars but are a hard working fun team to watch.
The leafs, apparently have superstars but are lazy and no fun to watch.

Thank gawd for the raps.

But dont worry, the leafs will turn it around.
Still early.

Freddie has been more than fine. If you take that TBL game out, his save percentage is like 9.40 or something.

But please, tell me more: your completely unbiased, trustworthy analysis is sorely needed around here.

Leafs were dominating, but it’s Babs fault we lost? Derp...how about not leaving the zone until the puck does and being a little tougher on the puck....ringette players sometimes 🥴

The numbers disagree with you, but I understand it's hard for Leaf fans to understand facts.

I agree that they aren't putting in the effort consistently. I also think they are overcoached or overmanaged in some way. The PP simply isn't effective yet it does the exact same thing time in and time out. I am not a creative nor good hockey player, but I don't try and do things the same each time. For some reason the Leafs do. Why? That's not on the players. It smacks of micromanagement, and when that happens, you lose dynamicism, and you lose the players.

I don't know if I'm right - it's a guess just from watching the play and knowing what we know about general human behaviour. But the disinterest in the players is permeating into the fans.

I'm not even sure if I'm going to watch this weekend. It's ridiculously frustrating.

I thought Babs had this year too. I still think he does unless they really fall off.

We sit here fir 2 or 3 days picking apart each game. We will see how they are at game 30ish? Not far to go there but we will see.

I agree. I think Siakim could lead this team to a championship.

At least I feel they could get back to the finals again.

and couple of softies from Andersen did not help as well.

IMO the team played bad defensively as a hole.

I still don't know why shore is on the team.

Worst defense in the NHL....Hawks or Leafs?

No but seriously how do you lose Jake Gardiner and somehow become even worse defensively?

Leafs need to trade for Georgiev. He's the perfect fit, more than capable of playing 40+ games, only has a 792K cap hit this year. Thrives playing behind a very suspect blue line.

He cheated on that 5-hole goal he gave up, but really that was on Barrie and Muzzin (?) for vacating the zone too early. Gauthier was the only one back I believe, so he was reading pass. That was at least a tough situation for him.

I think it was Kerfoot, and when the guy turned his back he should have buried him...stick check and a softie by Freddie...he was almost in the back of the net already.

Honestly the effort narrative is tired and idiotic guys, it needs to end now. This team has so much talent, no matter if they're simply playing shinny out on the ice they will have stretches of domination.

The issue is they are never put into a position to succeed, and that needs to be corrected before determining if this roster can ever win together.

I think the notion that these players are just lazy in comparison to every other team in the league is simply going to get some of them to say '(frank) it, I'm gone. Trade me please'.

It’s an excuse the so-called “fans” use to deflect blame away from Mike “the living embodiment of egotism” Babcock.
