I would think 25 games is a large enough sample size to know what the team is trending towards. He shouldn’t be able to use this excuse December onwards.

Risto needs to be moved for a top 6 forward yesterday. He seems to be the guy who can garner the most in a trade and with Montour, Miller, Joker, Bogo and Borgen we can afford to move him.

It just makes too much sense.

Good post

25-35 games is a good enough to see whether a player isnt working with the new coach and system.

Pouncey out 3 games.

The guy who shoved Rudolph in the end zone whose last name begins with an 0 suspended 1 game.

I doubt charges get pressed. There are court cases everywhere that indicate that the standard is a lot higher in sporting events.

Stages of loss:

1. Denial and isolation;
2. Anger;
3. Bargaining;
4. Depression;
5. Acceptance.

I'm at 4, almost to 5. But i would swap "acceptance" with "apathy"

- jcragcrumple

Seems like your having a tough time getting past #2- anger. 🤔

On the 11th day of Christmas my Botterill gave to me

11 NHL defensemen
10 goals against (in 2 games)
9 wins in october (followed by a collapse)
8 fans a cheering
7 years of suffering
6 useful forwards

50 Golden yearsssssss

4 the love of god, please make a trade
3 years at the helm
2 hand picked coaches
And a decade of futility

God bless us, everyone

For the past couple of years, I have had this thought that something just isn't right with the organization. I'd always tuck it away and rationalize that they are headed in the right direction, and overtime it will get better.

It has been awhile now, and that same thought continues to reveal itself. It has become very difficult to contain it and put it back in the box. What makes it worse for me now is that I believe they have a very good mentor in Ralph, I just don't know if he is enough to overcome this culture of losing, and what appears to be mentally weak players.

Rasmus Asplud recalled.

Injury?

- ImThatGuy

Almost has to be. They don't have a roster spot, so it's very safe to predict this is an emergency recall.

My view is that it is more of a problem that half the forwards are utterly useless

Ran into this interesting info from CapFriendly on Kovalchuk

@CapFriendly
A 35+ contract more than 1 year in length continues to count towards a clubs salary cap unless it is traded.

None of the following scenario's would change that:

Buyout
Termination
Retirement
Suspended without pay
Assigned to minors**

** assignment would provide $100k in relief

I heard something at my son's hockey game .

Involved Benn in a "ror" type trade.
Sabres sending 4 or 5 for benn
Cap, picks and prospects

Benn's cap hit is ridiculous though.
9.5 thru 2024/25

I didnt hear who was heading to dallas
My guess would be:

Okposo or sheary
Scandella or bogo

1st in 2020 or 21
2nd
Borgen/ asplund/ pilut

I guess the Sabres scouts have been following the stars closely

Jason, I heard that the management team is still trying to figure out what this has.

Let me help
FORWARDS -
Key Takeaways:
-The roster dosn't have enough good players who can score.
-There are several playing way, way over their capability. There isn't a sufficient supply of NHL- ready forwards in the pipeline.
Recommendations:
*poopcan Sobotka. Lazar showed more in 1 game than Vlad has for 99 games in uniform.
*Trade for legit 2C and 2RW this season.
* Push Mojo to 3LW
* do not re-sign Larry, Girgs nor Vesey
* waive Okposo next season, have a discussion about the benefits of joining Duffer in the booth for the next 2 seasons at $5m per if he "retires"

DEFENSE
Key Takeaways:
-Figure out what us wrong with Dahlin, he is your No. 1 Priority on the D to get right.
-The roster will soon have 10 NHL Defensemen, that is 3 too many. Use surplus to package in trades
-Explain to Krueger that 3 other HC thought Risto was a Top Pairinfg defender, they are no longer employed as HCs.
Recommendations:
*Do not wait too long in trading excess pieces. There is a organizational cost of losing that should be factored into the equation. The waiting game doesn't always work.
