Not even close.

But hey, we need SOMETHING to complain about daily.

- Powerslave

Yeah just take out two of the best players in the entire league because you can just do that.

The Sabres don’t have enough talent and that is why they are losing end of story

crosby, malkin, ovi, kane, toews, mcdavid, drasisaitl

all of those guys had playoff experience before their 5th season

this team, right now, will not sniff the playoffs in jack's 5th year

that is totally on botts, as this is his third season as gm

- homiedclown

I want the Homie "3 year plan" to make us a playoff team.

I know you're a smart hockey guy. You prove it here daily.

Here's the roster and prospect pool that Botts inherited.

Show me what you would have done...

Whiffnik like Miller cant seem to hit the broad side of a barn
- lulags

I shouldn't really rip on Zhtnick that hard, he had 14 goals one year, could skate like the wind and was built like an anvil

The thing is though Miller was the top prize that Botts brought in this year. He was supposed to help stabilize this defense.

He is now a healthy scratch because there is a log jam. It’s an awful look.

My patience is on very thin ice with Darcy JR.

- ImThatGuy

I see your point, however a second and a fifth for miller is much different than a first-rounder and a top d-prospect for Montour

we're 17 games into Krueger's tenure
- Michael Pachla

the last month has not been pretty

if he chewed gum, it would be like last december

I do not see adjustments, and I do not see the energy I saw in the first ten games

Over invested in defense, under invested in forward. It was clear in July, but it's now coming true on the ice

You saw a bad team play well in October, which happens in the NHL every year in spades, nothing more.

gum-chewer was also two months into his second season before the bottom fell out...fans gave him plenty of rope...and now because of him Ralph's on a short-leash?

Montour was last year. I’m talking specifically this year.

various pundits and prognosticators in the hockey world predicted this team to finish somewhere between 80-88 points (give or take)

Lazar will be fun to see. He was a firecracker in the preseason. Sucks for Miller. He's been a steady player for them. Scandella has played well too, though. No easy choices there, and it won't get easier with the return of Bogo. We could have Miller and Joker sitting, which will not make fans happy
- jcragcrumple

Sure seems like the choice is easy: enjoy the press box McCabe.

Montour was the first of three d-men traded for in a six-month span beginning February 25 when the season was pretty much shot

do you like our D?

botts had 3 years to create this D

do you like our scoring?

botts had 3 years to create this scoring

do you like our goalies, they are his guys

do you like the vets on this team? honestly I see none on this roster but I might be blind

botts brought in vesey
how is he doing

botts brought in sobotka and berglund, how are they doing?

botts rushed casey, how is he?

the only thing botts has done right, is the skinner trade and sign

so dahlin falls on his lap

if you can't build a team with one of the best 5 on 5 goal scoring wingers, eichel, reinhart and dahlin then maybe the first time nhl gm needs to be removed if we get 75 points this season

this is year 3 for him

he decided to bring back larsson and girgs

he decided to keep okposo with the big club

he decided to keep risto, mccabe, dahlin, joker, montour, scandella, bogo, pilut, miller etc under contract for d

he decided to go with johansson and casey as our middle 6 centers and keep e rod as plan b when he sent cozens down

he brought in sheary and hunwick

he decided to keep tage in rochester

he hired a soccer guy when money is no longer an excuse for a nhl head coach

those are his moves, and the eye test says he fails

so go ahead and say "I know you're a smart hockey guy. You prove it here daily. "
the fact is this is his 3rd season as gm, and we are pissing away eichel's prime years in the NHL

They still need a couple good forwards, people are going to have to be patient.

won't hide, but miller to me has been ok at best.. also of note, tweets have Krueger saying he's not afraid to go with 11 forwards and 7 d-men
- Michael Pachla

McCabe has been worse than ok at best, so why is he playing over Miller, who has been better than McCabe?

I was a huge fan, I like Miller too. Just see the bomb putting a dent in the boards now and then

2nd year General Manager Paul Gaustad saw his Buffalo Sabres lose again, this time to the expansion Quebec Nordiques. He is looking for answers, as the season is quickly falling apart.

Steady veteran Rasmus Ristolainen logged 24 minutes with 1 assist and a minus 2.

I never believed he planned on being very good this year. The fact that so much dead weight comes off the roster after this season is a very good indicator of this.

ralph is just another inexperienced coach that can sit behind the bench while the team goes 1-5-1

I predict we see home Eichel tonight which makes a difference. Road Eichel is a 4-5 mil a year player, home Eichel is the full monty 10 mil player.

bury okposo in rochester
call up tage

ship out scandella for a 6th when healthy

at least have 3 possible scoring lines and a true 4th line

I think girgens, larrson and lazar is fine for 8 minutes a night

instead we get to see girgens and larsson 13 to 14 minutes a night with okposo

I mean how is this any different then what housley did, once we got past the first 10 games

same crap

this team has not looked good since the stars game

- homiedclown

I'd actually ship out McCabe. I've seen enough of his act the past two years, and this year.

he's actually only had two years as this is the start of his third...although he has had three off-seasons...

and, we might also want to take into consideration the cap problems he walked into...we're just over six months away from that being a thing of the past

They have been leaning on Ristolainen and McCabe, the team's two worst possession defenders. It's already caught up with them.
