Same ppl screaming that Botts needs to “make it happen” and get a 2C, are the same ones who said bullsh!t like:

ROR is overrated
Can’t win with ROR
Look at StL record (a month+ in)
He ruined that locker room

Tage will score 25goals
Sobotka gives us good depth

And my all time favorite:
“Berglund is FAST”

And I’m sure some will try to blame what’s happening in San Jose on Kane...
even though he’s on pace for 56goals

- jdfitz77

Dude you gotta get over ROR. He didn't want to be here, and how much Botts hands were tied we'll never know, but the way it went down sure made it seem like he was instructed to move him.

I know that Homie, but there is no quick fix right now and Tage might help but he's not going to do it alone. And we could make trades, but who knows if the pieces we are willing to trade are enough to bring in what we need.

when the team is slipping, it's the gm's job to salvage the season

he didn't do it last season

he has the assets to do it now, and despite what people are hearing on twitter

the only thing being discussed is shipping out a few bums for a late pick or blah prospects

it's beyond pathetic

for every skinner or joker move he makes, he brings in 3 other guys that are just warm bodies

we lost our second line winger

the response, bring up lazar, not tage

I think lazar would be a fine 4th liner if an energy 8 minute role was the spot

tage is the prospect who should be given 15 minutes a night on RW

instead wait for the okposo promotion

it's coming

What are the offers?

You have sources. What are the offers for a top 6 he's passing on?

- Powerslave

are you happy with this team.

2/3 of this teams forwards has a total of 10 goals. Meanwhile they are healthy scratching dmen because there are too many, when the rest of the league is hurting for D.

Botts has failed so far this year. He’s doing low risk moves. He traded a potential top 6 forward for another dman. (I like joker but damn)

he is looking to shed salary , not add

he had descent offers for risto, wanted more

he never shopped risto, only listened to offers

and again, sobotka is out for months

lazar gets the call not tage

you tell me, which winger has more upside, tage or lazar

it's a knee jerk reaction to the bolts bullying the sabres overseas

and the wrong call up

There's no chance your source doesn't have the full information or is wrong and the twitter people like Jeremy White and Chad from Die by the Blade may actually have good information?

To be fair, that statement was echoed by one of the TSN guys.

The focus shifted off Risto and was now on Scandella and Bogo and salary shedding moves.

O'Reilly's time was done here. The change of scenery for him was every bit as vital to St. Louis winning the Cup as O'Reilly himself was.

Nothing you said is incorrect, but you have now said multiple times about his bad cap hits for next year. Which ones are you referring to?
- SDSabre

miller, hutton, mccabe, montour, johansson

and whichever scrubs he brings back next season from sobotka, larsson, girgs, vesey, sheary, and bogo

peggy wanted ror out, botts caved and got a crap return

I guarantee you if ror was kept, this team would be much better

and I was all for moving ror, I can admit when I was wrong and I was there

Maybe?

But it’s still amusing to me that ppl on here whining about Botts needing to make a move were happy about ROR being shipped out

Now we're second guessing trading Nylander?

Stop. The. Madness.

Everyone on this board wanted him gone. No one in Chicago wanted Joker gone.

Am I happy? (frank) no.

But year one was evaluation. Every. Body. Knew. That.

And if Botts' hands were truly tied w ROR, then the blame lies with ownership.

There are 30 other GM's in the league all trying to one-up each other in a trade. And if everyone is truly hurting for D, let them outbid each other.

But, hey, why would they want our D, anyway? 😉

People are assuming Botterill has a plan. So far he's pulled a reverse Murray and gotten us 34 defensemen and -2 good forwards

my source is solid

see pommer coming back, me calling the bills wanting antonio brown the day before we almost got him in our sleep, etc

he is looking to add prospects and shed salary right now, same as he was last december

Still am happy he did it.

Return wasn't near what it should have been, but I think it was best for all.

Certainly ROR.

There's no way in hell Sobotka or Bogosian come back. If Larsson and Girgensons come back, they will be at near-minimum deals, just like last year so they're irrelevant. If Vesey continues to put up a goose-egg, he won't be back. Sheary is the only one to worry about.

And would rather him continue to develop than make the same mistake they did last year by bringing him up too soon

He plays well 4 times a year against the penguins. He can go with the rest of the "Botterill 10"

Then why the hell did Botterill put the dead weight on the team in the first place?

We have to give him time to clean up the mess of his own doing now? It's absurd

- jcragcrumple

You give him crap for not adding to the forward pipeline, while also giving him crap for making moves with depth picks to try to acquire players who can help the team win now.

I’m confused.

Yes and again I like Joker, but it was another dman.

A subsequent move needed to be made and it was not to get a forward in here.

I mean I guess I don't consider any of them particularly "bad" and to be actual hockey players? IDK, just seems like you are saying give me a star or give me a league min player here.

- Kane

+ Skinner
+ MoJo

That results in a “-2” for you??

it's his job to ice the best nhl team though

you don't replace a second line winger with a fringe 4th liner at best nhl player

you call up your best prospect who has top 9 potential and put him in a place to succeed

this has okposo on the second or third line written all over it

It seems they are sticking to the plan of a certain amount of AHL games for Tage to improve his development and the long-range picture which they should have done last year.

yup, even if it's shipping out mccabe, because you don't want to move risto

and playing another RD on the off side
