I think our forward depth is so much better this year and he's one of a number of guys to be excited about. He'll never be confused with Kane or DeBrincat but he's chipping in some offense more regularly and for me that's gravy.

I've always appreciated his board play and overall tenacity. I always found that part to be false from some that post here that can't stand his game claiming how easy he was to knock off the puck, never wins any board battles, always falling down, etc.

Agendas are agendas.

That goal of his last night was quite the wicked shot. I never wanted him on the 3rd line (I have always liked him as a player) just thought he was over slotted. He hasn't really given a reason why he shouldn't be playing there, imo.

Looked him up and 197 lbs is the stated weight for Dach but those size numbers are always questionable at best. By age 20-21, I am sure that Dach will be checking in at well over 200 and that will give him a lot more room on the ice as opponents begin to back off.

There must be a typo there somewhere, while the guy is skinny, 164 seems awfully light for a guy that tall.

For all the heat that Kampf took as our 3rd line center from many posters here, I like the way his game is coming around now. I have always liked his skating but it is the other parts of his game coming together that has me excited about his potential.
- 67hawks

Was looking at Kampf's fancies the other day. His corsi is below water 47% but with a 35% Ozone start, his high danger chances for is 52% and his expected GF is 52%.

The fancies back your eye test. Looks like he may be a responsible bottom 6 PK guy with depth scoring capability.

Agree with the whole post. IMO the difference we see in their zone is the D is allowed to read and react, as Keith said they were not allowed to do under the "old" system. Now they are reading/reacting and getting in lanes to jump or deflect passes. .......But they are allowing 40ish plus shots a night under the read/react system, but it is allowing cleaner exits triggering a rush and speed.

Agree on Foley and Eddie. They must have been spoken to about the wonderful best friend banter about Diana's cookies. Quite simply they were unlistenable for me the last few yrs, in fact I wouldn't I'd get the opponent feed from Reddit, but that has changed this yr and the drastic change can't be a coincidence....... Quite frankly I forgot how good Foley can be.

Maybe McD had a meeting with them too.

The manic swings of the BOD. Can't wait to see the tattooed wonder's take on this win streak, two weeks ago he had the team ready to be dynamited I bet he's fererishly working on various parade routes.

It's definitely a typo. With some of the hits he's taken his body might have shattered if he were 164 lbs.

I bet both dogs are Chihuahuas, which would fit in with the Great Tattoo's personality, but I fear when DACA is rescinded we will see Tattoo Boy cry yet again.

As the Hawks weren't as bad as that losing streak the Leafs, (as much as I can't stand them) aren't as bad as the losing streak they're on. However 2 years ago when it was obvious the Leafs needed defense and instead chose to sign Tavares,, they still need defense and will need to move one of their hight price forwards to upgrade the "D".

funny how things work out for us know nothing prognosticators:

when the hawks started this brutal 12 games of travel stretch with a 4-0 drubbing at the hands of the kanes, it seemed this stretch would bury them for good...well no..

they finish the 12 games vs a cooled off sabre team with a chance to go 7-3-2...

the top 6 are en fuego and craw/lehner flipping aside or eating pucks at a vezina rate..

I'm paying the price in my later years from playing sports, broken bones, separated shoulders and a torn ACL and MCL along with worn out miniscus has left me with arthritis everywhere and I'll need to replace my right knee at some point. Something you'll not have to worry about loser boy.

They do but are even or ahead in high danger chances most every game during this run as Powers seems to have missed in the following. Just read a good piece by Powers in The Athletic that it seems most here have concluded, I know I have:

The Blackhawks’ road to success may not be the same type of possession hockey as it was during their runs to three Stanley Cups, but they’re carving their own path to points. Being on the wrong side of shot attempts, shots on goal, scoring chances and high-danger chances isn’t as important as being on the right side of the scoreboard.

Hockey analytics be damned. Calvin de Haan should start making T-shirts that read, “All that Corsi bullpoop.” This is the new Blackhawks’ hockey. It may not always be pretty, but it’s proving to be effective and the same sample size for that is growing.

The Blackhawks aren’t going to win most games by five goals like they did Saturday night. Some puck luck played into their hands. Brent Seabrook floating backhanded shots don’t often find the inside of the net. But the Blackhawks can certainly beat teams playing like just they did during this stretch against the Predators, Vegas Golden Knights, Toronto Maple Leafs, Pittsburgh Penguins and Vancouver Canucks. The margin for error may not be great, but they can win games weathering storms, giving their offensive players the freedom to do what they do best, relying on Lehner and Corey Crawford to stop a high quantity of shots and winning or at least staying even in the special teams’ battle.

The situation with Babcock is worse than JC's has ever been. The Hawks are in a mini rebuild with a team that has won it all recently, whereas the Leafs are in a win now situation and that makes Babcock's seat a lot hotter.

AND the leafs are in a cap mess and have no defense. While not a Babcock fan this is also on the GM.

The last 2 games turned out just as I hoped. Two road wins in regulation against division opponents. Hope the Hawks don't get over confident and off the gas against BUF, CAR and TB at home this week. They have to keep accumulating the points.

I like the depth scoring that has taken place these last 2 games with 4 goals by defensemen and goals by Nylander, Kampf, Dach and Kubalik.

On the other hand I, like many of us, would like to see the D tightened up. Some games the offense will dry up and the Hawks can't keep depending on Crow and Lehner to have big games.

Edit-I meant conference opponents.
