Now's the time to use Dach as a sweetener to unload Brent "The Anchor" Seabrook's contract.

I know your sarcasm, but in all honesty, Seabs has been playing well. Better after being scratched or getting to play his way like the rest or his defensive partner (???) up for interpretation.
holy poop...the rams did everything to say "please beat us" and the bears offense said "are you kidding...we would rather beat ourselves"
this team is heading to 5-11 and an enormous WTF just happened off season...now what - bogiedoc
What a mess. Btw, who is the other win coming against?
Watched a bit of it in between periods and after the Hawk game. After they scored to start the second half, they could get nothing done on offense.
Like you said though, now what? I thought Mitch would be at least appreciably better this year. Didn't think he'd remind anyone of Mahomes, but he's regressed.
Even after Trubisky, there are a ton of troubling questions on O. The line doesn't look good and hasn't really helped the run game make much of an impact. Pace wasted a second on a DII TE who looks like he'll be out of the league next season. The other guy he threw a bunch of money at hasn't been able to stay on the field and for the time he has, Burton's accounted for a little over 100 receiving yards through 8 games.
Ugh. I like the trajectory of the Hawks a lot better. Low bar I know but I think things are looking pretty good as they stand today.
Dach, Kubalik and Nylander all have 9 points which puts them tied for 7th in rookie scoring.
Hughes has 10 points, but has played 5 more games than Dach and averaged 4.5 minutes more per game.
Kakko has 8 points, but he has played 2 more games than Dach and averaged 4 minutes more per game. - EbonyRaptor
How about Byram and Turcotte, what are their point totals? Seem to recall some of the "experts" from the Athletic and other locales scratching their heads that the Hawks passed on Bowen Orr and Wayne Turcotte.
I kid...they could turn out to be great players but in limited time, Dach has looked really good and I think making many people, FO and fans alike, happy with the 3rd overall pick.

Wow. Well that was a weekend.
Just a heads up, I will have a blog out at some point today, however, it won't be until later on as I'm in Mexico on vacation.
Stay tuned. Until then... enjoy this new Blackhawks team and these weekend wins!

Dach is looking better each game, two things I really like is his ability to strip pucks away from the opposition and his defensive game is better than most 18 year olds. That said I'd still prefer he was in Junior to work on the weaker aspects of his game and to give him the opportunity to play in the WJC and to dominate in Junior.

NFL is tough cuz anyteam can rise up and bite you...but expect they beat the giants...

I admit I was a Byram and Turcotte guy - flopping back and forth between them depending which direction the wind was blowing. But - I didn't really have a problem with them selecting Dach because by the time of the draft my windsock had come around on Dach a little bit. And now, I'm happy to admit I was wrong that Dach doesn't skate well enough to be a top line center - very happy.
Regarding Byram and Turcotte - Jrs and college so apples and oranges with what Dach is doing in the NHL. Byram isn't scoring as much as last season but Turcotte is doing pretty well at Wisconsin (and so is Caufield).

LOL!
That wasn't directed at you at all btw. Didn't realize you were on the Turcotte or Byram train and I was flapping every which way in the breeze with you.
I would have been good with any of them come draft day with the thinking that whoever the scouting group landed on would be a really good player at the #3 pick.
I didn't see much of any of these guys except for YouTube highlight reels, but as the draft approached, there started to be more buzz about the Hawks leaning toward Dach. As it did, I warmed to the idea of them picking a big center and haven't seen anything wrong with the pick. I think they got a good possibly great one.

I guess since you went ahead and saved me the keystrokes, I’ll just pay it forward and throw this out there....
This might sound premature because it's to early in all these kids careers.
Just the sample size of games Dach has played in along with his press comments this kid looks like he will exceed expectations.
The front office is starting to look like a group of geniuses for selecting dach.
We probably won't see just how good/great overall this kid will be until he fills in his body ( bulk up ) and improves upon on his confidence - Taylorst1
