I thought he was only an assistant coach I didn't realize Sens changed his title for the one year oops. His last HC stints back in 2010 with Dallas.
- NuckUp

It was only a handful of games, after they fired Boucher, but he was technically the “interim head coach” for that span.

If TG is truly a terrible coach, then he must be a super genius. Like Felonius Gru level IQ To be able to fool Benning the genius.

Just saw the clip of Ovi crushing Drouin.

Thanks Carol.

I said what Cam said yesterday. Podz hasn't done poop since the Hlinka well over a year ago. How can that not be concerning...

Stars are hot, Canucks are cold. Canucks played really sloppy. No surprises in the results.

More to it than just points (although I think the points will come) - have watched a couple of full games and guy is all over the puck and scouts rave about him.

The disparity between Vasily Podkolzin’s on-ice impact and his subsequent point totals remains baffling.

He’s consistently driving play and creating chances for himself and mates. But the points refuse to follow (minus the Hlinka)

Clearly he’s been curse by some sort of witch

So he's going to be one of those Corsi dudes who the nerds overrate because his corsi is like 2.5% higher than average at 5v5

Mason Raymond, Chris Higgins and David Booth were all corsi studs too

Just great

A skilled winger who plays with an edge. Podkolzin combines his fine hockey sense, puck handling and shooting with an aggressive, in-your-face, type of game. He competes hard, is very difficult to play against and has the tools to be a high scoring player. (EP 2019)

He can bulldoze through a defenseman on his way to the net, Hockeyprospect.com 2019
A force to be reckoned with each time he is on the ice, his explosive skating and speed help him carry the puck with ease, Future Considerations 2019
He takes powerful strides to get up ice and needs only a few steps to reach his top speed, McKeen's Hockey 2019
He’s a complete winger with all the qualities that you want in a player, Craig Button - TSN 2018
Very strong on the puck.. plays the hard way.. fierce but disciplined.. sound puck management.. possesses an effective move to his forehand, Draftin Europe 2018

I have only seen him play 5 or 6 times but I liked what I saw and I like what I read about him..

I think at some point in the next few weeks you have to take a look at Boucher with Petey and Miller. He does play Left side which I am not sure if it will affect Petey ? He has played 10 games and has 13 G and 3 assists. He is on pace for 50 plus goals.

He is 26 now and fully developed. He does have 8 goals in 48 games as a Canuck which is roughly about 14 a year. He did that playing 3 rd and 4 th line minutes mainly with a less talented roster.

He deserves one last shot and try him with Petey for a stretch and if that doesn't work then Bo and Gaudette.

Did all three of those players help the Canucks get to game Seven?

Fact check: David did not.

He's not soft like Raymond, he can skate unlike Higgins.

It must be a BC thing to worry so much.

I think he has. I didn't see him much last year seeing this is my first year as a subscriber but he looks fast to the puck. Very smart for finding open spaces and a very quick release.

Also the talent level around him is much better. Him and Lind make a good one two combo.

Much more dynamic than all of those players and he is significantly more physical. If it was just a Corsi, etc. thing, I would agree with you but the kid dominates and drives play, not just possession.

Sutter I'm fine with – he just can't be a main piece anymore. When he's healthy, he's a good player. Just have to treat him as a winger we rotate out. It's Gaudette's job to run with now IMO.

Tanev is great for QH. Has been a better level of healthy this year... so far?

Edler, ya, he needs to get shuffled out. Not likely to happen though.

- NewYorkNuck

I'm actually ok with Sutter-Tanev when they are healthy of course but it's time to remove that risk...hell it was time two years ago.

Edler should never have been re-signed it's as simple as that. Minute Muncher sure but for what he brings at this point we could have had at half the price. Neither makes us better or worse. But I don't see us as a PO team if he's in the line up.

can't stand him, I change the station when he comes on the radio or tv.

- hillbillydeluxe

Since 2011 when he was all anti Canucks I just shut him off now.

And when we were bringing the Allan Cup to the City of Red Deer a few years back, the Allan cup committee approached Maclean and his agent to make a one day appearance and speak at the Allan cup banquet and all as Red Deer is his hometown.

Maclean and his agent said that he will not step on the plane to come to Red Deer for any less than $100,000 per day like SR Mens AAA Hockey has that kind of cash. Maclean wouldn't even come to his own hometown to speaknat one of the countries biggest Hockey events. After that all respect was gone. F'n tool.

Which minute-munching defenseman was available for 3 million?
I am not an Edler fan by any means, but, he is still the teams best defenseman.

Didn’t CBC try that, not renewing his contract? Then ratings plummeted and they brought him back at a salary that would even make you blush.
- 1970vintage

They were going to get rid of Ron & Don both and the backlash was high so they brought them back. It was more about losing Cherry really but it was what it was.

But in hind sight at that particular point it probably would have been wise to shut it down anyways. Was getting redundant and needed a change.

That is the teams problem, Edler being the best D man still and before a few jump in best overall defencemen. Hughes has some aspects of the game he needs to improve upon still.

Until someone better comes around. This team may not be able to take the next step.

A while back Ron had contract negotiations and Canada forced CBCs hand . It was obviously before 2011 though
