Both. I expected a slightly better than .500 team, which is what they have produced thus far.

TG has to fire them up with better 1st periods. Playing from behind is wear & tear that adds up.

I heard a retired NHL player suggest that while the coach “prepares” the players from a strategy/game plan perspective, it is the players themselves who have to be accountable for their energy etc. I don’t believe coming out flat is on the coaching staff. If you aren’t fired up about playing in the NHL you don’t deserve a job there.

A bit of both. Growing team and clearly they need more depth to overcome 3rd & 4th line injuries.
