Nico was one year from even becoming a RFA for the first time, they are not comparable

Nico could very well be worth it ultimately, he's still making 925K this year, but I'd certainly hope to see some offensive growth before that big money kicks in

Im camparing how they used one stat to make a point instead of the whole picture.

One poster suggested Trouba wasnt worth 8 million due to one sole stat just as was done with Nico.

Nico might not be Mcdavid or Mathews but he wont be to far off of Bergeron and Couts and that is perfect.

i just don't understand the need to give him that contract now. reminds me of the oilers when they'd give all their top draft picks those expensive deals as rfas
