I’m becoming more and more convinced that
Eichel is the problem. Take the C away and maybe the attitude shifts. Put the C on Skinner or Rhino - lulags
I think Eichel is a poop stain under-achiever, personally. I'm sick of the excuses for him. |

Yeah. Averaging over 1 point per game is poop stain. Clearly his fault.
Beyond the Sabres first line, the Sabres are insanely weak. But again Eichels fault |

I don’t get it ...... why are coaches so worried about benching other players like McCabe. Risto. Etc.
Atleast he didn’t bench joker.
asplund is playing. I can’t wait to see that. |

Drastically underachieving for the past month yes, for his whole career no.
We can debate whether or not he’s a good leader, which right now he isn’t, but he will be a top 5-10 Center in the NHL for the duration of his contract. |

Yeah I can’t wait for Asplund to be immediately better than Girgensons or Vesey or Sobotka but get sent down immediately |

We really don’t. We don’t have depth and our other #2 pick couldn’t be traded 1 for 1 with any of the past 7 2nd overall picks but the superstar is the problem. |

You are 100% spot on about that. |

To be more clear, what's your opinion on if goals scored in Feb, March and April count more than those in Oct, Nov, Dec.? - IonSabres
I mean, it all averages out right? You have a good start one year, a slow start another year, etc. Only if the player has 3-4 seasons of doing that can you really say it's anything other than random distribution.
Points in Oct count the same as points in April from a standings perspective, so goals do too. Unless I have enough data to prove a guy isn't capable of scoring after the all Star break I wouldn't make a bit deal of it. |

Lol. Ryan Murray and Nolan Patrick say hello.
Eichel is already on the team.
I'm not even certain Laine is better at this point. Kakko is a complete unknown.
So really, it's like three or four guys you are comparing him to.

Last year the Sabres had the 16th best power play at 19.5 % which is average.
It was a 2% difference each way of being a top 10 and bottom 10 power play.
Unless you’re undeniably great or undeniably bad it’s a few goal difference for 20-25 teams in the league |

It send a message to Eichel that his attitude and maturity is killing the culture. If this message is not sent, the team never gets better anyway so let him demand a trade - lulags
Think things over again
Although it is nice having a guy on this board who’s obviously around the team every day and knows the attitude and maturity of eichel..... |

Yep let’s hate on eichel, Dahlin and skinner while ignoring that 8 forwards, or so, have one goal or less and we’re getting below average goaltending. |

Reinhart isn’t the problem either, if hen is who you are referring to. You don’t think Phi would trade Patrick for Reinhart?? Okay then |

I think something had to give and a trade if a dman (and maybe 2 when Bogo returns) has to be imminent. Miller hasn’t been bad enough to bench, he’s been fine for the most part |

Thanks God, finally a voice of reason though i think Kakko will be a good one.

Eichel does not make the players around him great, just marginally better.
Draisaitl is better than Eichel at this stage and it's not even close and I don't want to hear the "plays with McDavid" rhetoric. We should be talking about Reinhart how people talk about Draisaitl and it's not even close. |

Probably because McCabe and Risto are prime moving pieces. You sit a guy you don’t want to move imo |

Forwards In - Lazar, Asplund, Thompson, Cozens, "X"
Forwards Out - Okposo, Larsson, Girgs, Sobotka, Vesey
Defencemen In - Pilut
Defencemen Out - Scandella, one of McRisto, Bogo
Package up whatever you need to with Defencemen out, picks and prospects to get Top 6 impact forward. I am sick and tired of watching the same crappy players game after game. At least let us watch the remainder of the season with new crappy players, if that's what they turn out to be.
I am die-hard Sabres optimist but i am getting a sinking feeling on this team. It's November 16th and we are already playing "must win" games. |

Jack Eichel, Alexander Barkov, Patrick Laine, Andrei Svechnikov, Kakko and Byfield all better then Sam.
Sam is the 5th best forward in his draft class.
Sam isn’t the problem, but having Draisatil would help don’t you think ?
For some reason Eichel is underachieving yet at his worst he is still better then Reinhart’s best. |

Slamming doors and looking into the sky every time a play does not work, not trying after a play is broken. Who needs to be in the locker room to see this? Anyone watching TV or at the game can see it. I’m not saying others not performing is all his fault but wearing the C comes with responsibilities. I’ve played with many guys with all the talent in the world but couldn’t lead. He’s on the list. We need a leader then Eichel can just focus on scoring |
