Nope, not 1:1 he's not. Not even that big, strong, tough, physical, offensive powerhous! , 1st Pairing, minute chewing RhD is getting the Sabres a Top 6 Forward.
You are correct.

That is why he needs to be packaged with another solid player/prospect and probably a pick if some sort.
Just because it can't be done 1:1 should not be an excuse to not get a top 6 Forward.

I was bout to say almost identical. Toughest guy on our team by a landslide and will probably have a great career, win a cup somewhere else but we need top 6 scoring more than we need him unfortunately

His body language is horrible when things don't go his way

He has Joe Ferguson body language. If you are too young to remember, I can't help you.

Says who ? He has never scored back to back 30 goal seasons. Throw those 4 names in a hat and the only thing that differentiates them is the Center they play with.
- Pegullaville

Skinner has been here a year
He’s scored with Jack
He’s scored without

Until he only scores 25-30goals here,
your incessant b!tching about him will continue to fall on deaf ears

And again... what are u getting out of this?
He’s signed here for a while,
and not going anywhere

I agree, but people need to stop saying how bad he is and then expect a top 6 forward for him. If we see it other people do too.

I am not saying they read these blogs, a hole, but scouts do watch games, see what other people see. Jesus if Botts can pull a top 6 for him, good for him.

People say we rip on our top-end talent too much but you live and die by your top-end talent. Remember when Darcy said we were basically going to tank or rebuild because you win with top picks? Well, we have those top picks and nutin.

I think Jack was supposed to be more, especially on the road where he comes up short. I think our 2014 pick when we picked Reinhart was hoped to be a bit more and this year WTF is up with Dahlin? We definitely expected more from him. I remember when people were saying who is better Jack or Dahlin? Right now it, unfortunately, isn't a question. Skinner went 20 + games last year with 4 goals, was on a 6 game role with no goals and 1 assist until he played his former team which always seems to motivate him. Too bad he doesn't regularly have that motivation. Edmonton's top-end talent is leading them pretty well finally.

No, there were a bunch of goofs like Bruce Matheson, Vince Ferragamo before Jim Kelly

Look at the last sabres playoff team. They had way more guys in the middle

11 players with at least 10 goals.

How many sabres will hit 10-15 goals for us? 6? 7? Hell, McCormick had 8 goals and 20 points. Even the useless guys were useful

This same argument was used against ROR. The supporting cast sucks, so blame the top guys

U18 WJC but I see your point if referring to U20 post draft as he was really good on that team as well and wasn’t he the Captain?

Correct, Risto might get you a AA type 1 for one. It sure I love or even like that trade?? He also might get you an expiring contract like a Hall, but then after this season (one of which Hall might help you make they playoffs but certainly won’t win you a cup) is 90% gone and you’re left with nothing. There’s a reason Risto is still a Sabre

I know Ferguson, he had the worst slouched shoulders head down body language. I honestly don’t see that in Jack this year, he’s much improved. In previous years he was a bit of a pouter but NEVER as bad as fergy

Jack has a strong line and you can barely find his production on the road many nights; Reinhart is playing along side him he has no excuses from the middle and he is fine, very good sometimes but my point is I think they wanted more than that for that 2nd overall pick. Dahlin has to find his way, but I think they expected more while he found his way; Skinner has to play iike he did Thursday on more nights. Some of the bottom 6 are playing their roles, and only a few are under-achieving. Is Mitts underachieving while he develops? Vesey is, Sheary is who he is, Rodriguez is underachieving, Okposo is who he is now, an overpaid grinder. Girgensons is a 4th line Pker, that is who he is and he's paid like it.

Exactly my point: I agree with anyone who thinks we got less than advertised from Eichel.

He's very good. I just expected the gap between him and McDavid to be smaller than it is. It's about a 30-40 point per year difference. That's insane.

I don't see a killer instinct from him. None of these coaches seem to be able to light a fire under his ass. He needs to be the guy who raises everyone's playing level.

His team mate's should want to score for him and play hard for him and they clearly don't. We have a bunch of go-through-the-motions type of players and the fact that no one is held accountable, starting with the captain, is disheartening as a fan.

Okposo, Girgensons, Larsson, Vesey, Sheary, all should have been scratched for at least a game by now. Eichel and Reinhart don't do enough for me. Sobotka is useless.

Small sample size for jack on the road this year, what has it been 10 games. In his career, he’s been about equal on the road vs home. 10 road games in isn’t a time to overreact?

What I’d like to see most/more from jack is toughness. He’s a strong kid, when a scrum is occurring get more involved then simply skating in being a peace maker. Show some balls as Reinhart has shown this year. More Reinhart, less Nelson...

What I'm saying is that all of those guys you mentioned are definitely under achieving, but when we compare the roster of the last successful sabres team, the talent at the top is substantially better, but the talent in the middle and at the bottom is substantially worse. Vanek led that team with 73 points.

The 2nd line was pitching in at 50 point pace. TC didn't get there because he didn't play a full season, but his line mates did. Our 2nd line is brutal

Below them you had Gerbe, gaustad and Hecht pitching in 30 points each (points: 31, 31, 29)

The 4th line guys about 20 points each (points: 20, 19, 16)

This roster performs below those levels at every level and every line (other than L1). The depth is atrocious.

Yes I would, but we have to many players that just don't do that, we have what 3 to 4 players that are gonna score 20 or more, we need more players that are gonna chip in 10 to 15, and right now we don't have that. We can't count on are bottom 6, and that is killing them.
- Buff36

Are bottom 6 just isn't bringing anything to the table offensively right now, and it is really hurting the team

We could stand up on top of KBC with a 30' neon blinking light and announce how we all think he sucks and list his metrics to support it, so every scout, Director, VP and GM would see it before every game...and certain brainy-types would laugh at how dumb fans are.

They don't care what fans think.
