Karine Hains: Game 19: Canadiens vs Capitals AKA That Was a Beauty! It didn't start well for the Habs, in the first minute it looked like it could be a very long night but then, the team woke up.

A beauty of a recap for a beauty of a game! Although the offense was on display, you gotta give a shout out to Carey, he was a beast tonight, made some big saves late.

A great win by a well balanced and cohesive team. It's their depth that does it. The Habs can win without one or more "superstar" offensive players on the roster. I'm proud of "Les Boys".

I haven't checked yet but it's probably the refs' fault according to Caps fans.

Weber / Chariot. 2 pts each, +3, 22-23mins while playing against Ovi line all night. Big win. Hopefully Drouin is alright.

I love Tatar with Suzuki so I’m not sure if we should really break that line

Domi has to wake up. Actually his line has to.

Trade coming??

Byron is not the same this season. Maybe it's the fight he took. Armia is Armia.

Domi needs some skills on his line.

Maybe put him back on the wing with KK when he comes back?

Domi's been playing with two players on serious cold streak in the last few games.

Armia isn't scoring like he was in the first 10 games and Byron won't help him out of his slump with his 1 goal in 19 games.

Now putting Domi on the wing of KK..... that might make things interesting....

The lack of faith in our future number 1 centre is baffling.

You’re right for Byron but Armia isn’t playing that bad actually, he always get out of the corner with the puck. The problem is Domi isn’t doing what Domi used to, PASSING. He’s doing Galchenyuk by going through everyone and lose the puck and that’s not helping since it end up doing a turnover.
I think Domi should go at the wings and see how it goes.
My lines would be;

Drouin-Kotkaniemi-Armia (they were good when together)
Tatar-Suzuki-Domi (I really like Suzuki at center and Tatar is playing well with him)
TRADE-Danault-Gallagher (trade for a skill winger) maybe use Lehkonen/Weal or Byron for now. I don’t like Drouin at that line actually.. need grits to go with Danault & Gallagher.
Cousins-Thompson-Weal/Byron/Lehkonen

Should be soon the end of Lehkonen or/and Byron

How do we get said winger? Who would you target?

I heard about Pageau.

He’s a center. Would have been good at 2nd or 3rd Line but with Suzuki doing well and Kotkaniemi having to be C. I don’t see him fitting there.. he’s also small which is enough for Habs.

I’m not sure who we could land but the biggest winger would be Hall but I’m not sure he would resign here and the cost might be too much.
Something cheaper would be a guy like Toffoli which has the ability to scores goals

Centers can play on the wing. That should not be a problem. You said you wanted some grit with Danault and Gallagher. Pageau fits the bill. Hall? Not so much.

True but we are already so small. It’s good to be speedy but IF comes the playoff, that might be pretty hard with so many small players.

I’d take another Armia

If that were the case, he would be called Bill Foligno.
