Hayes pointless in 10 straight games on pace for 29 points. He's been totally underwhelming thus far. Like ridiculously awful.

He had a strong start to the season but has really struggled in the last 10-12 games. Contract weighing on him ? It doesn’t matter, he needs to play better.

Leafs fans don’t want Marner trades, I promise you that. They want Nylander traded because he held out for too much and playing like poop, which is reasonable.

I don’t know what else to tell you, man. Leafs management didn’t want Gardiner anymore. Fans didn’t want him anymore. It took Gardiner until mid summer to sign with a team. Jake Gardiner currently isn’t having a good season. Smells like a recipe for not a very good player to me and this is without me telling you I’ve watched a lot of Gardiner as a leaf to know he wasn’t very good. The leafs defense would be bad with or without Gardiner.

Leaf management didnt want Gardiner. Doesnt make them right. They wanted Barrie, Ceci, Neuvirth, Hutchinson and Babcock. How are all those working for them? Babcock is a mess. He plays the 4th line almost as much as matthews. Spezza played 14 mins to Matthews 17. He often plays the 4th line when down late in the 3rd. Dubas said his goal this season was to fix the D. All he did was make it worse. There is a reason why Colorado had Barrie on the trade block.

I'm a lot more worried about Jake than Hayes. Hayes has been strong on the PK and generally plays a pretty sound defensive game. If Jake isn't racking up points he's not really useful (to put it lightly)

Yes. Lots of leafs fans in my neck of the woods and the gm has (frank)ed that team. 4 players making half the cap. Not enough cap to get a reasonable backup. D is terrible. If you're going to ever spend. Do it on d. They have to trade nylander but now it will be selling low. Without Andersen they are zero.

The Islanders have points in 14 of the last 15 games and are not contenders. There is a such thing as exceeding expectations. The fact so many fans are just accepting of dogpoop is mind boggling.

That is what people said last season and they lost to Carolina in round 2. Isles have one of the best coaches in the league, they have players that hustle. Effort beat skill. It doesnt matter how good you are, if the effort is not there the hard working guy is going to play better than the lazy player. Blowing the lead shouldnt happen but it does. We shouldnt lose to teams like Ottawa but it happens to all teams. Look at Tampa, they are playing like garbage despite being the best team last season. They are going to snap out of it eventually as will the Flyers. The only thing that matters is that we are getting points. Remember 2 years ago we lost 10 games straight and made the playoffs bevause we lost most the games in extra time and gained points.

I dont think its anything permanent I think the coach just wanted fresh legs in the lineup. Braun probably would have been the better choice though. Coaches like their Vets though.

Yup. Which is a good sign. Have to figure they will start to produce close to their career averages. Konecny and Lindblom have been great, but what happens when they slump?
