Yeah I mean I know about the whole euro hockey hate poop but I hate how loose the definition of racism has gotten these days. People throw that word around so loosely that it loses its meaning. - j.boyd919
Regular Jon Snow soundbite here haha. I dig it. He said something to the same tune. If people keep breaking oaths then they start to lose their meaning, can’t argue with that
It’s kinda like how leftists are called liberals except people firmly on either side of the bridge typically aren’t very tolerant these days |

You’re right. Most guys like him made so much money, too much to piss away. They typically deal in cash especially at his age
I know for a fact that one of the STL PTO guys is buying here in Scottsdale in cash
Side note: what a play by Petan and Spezza. Can’t be mad about that imo |

Dumo was too passive, Same thing he did 10 or so games ago on what may have been an OT winner, I don't remember

Anybody else liking that Kahun-McCann-Tanev line. Before Bjugstad got hurt I was saying his time at center was coming to an end. I say it ends now. |

I don't think anybody ever thought he was going to score a ton. Rutherford wanted a top flight "energy guy" and paid him a premium. I think he's been great actually. I'd like to see him get some shifts with players that can score a little. I love players that win puck battles/opens up space for skilled players. - madmike71

First my pitch and then notes on the HNIC intermission: JJ looks like a different player. His positioning is better, he’s getting beat less when he breaks up plays at the blue line, he just looks more confident
Mike Babcock is in the hotseat
Talks about one of the Penguins goalies being available still. I don’t think we should move one in case injuries strike
Barrie hasn’t asked for a trade... yet. TO has received calls on Barrie but they’re not really listening
Calgary possibly looking to shake things up sooner rather than later
Kovalchuk: destiny is in his hands. He continues to be a scratch but he’ll dictate where he goes when there’s interest
Offside reviews: they want refs to let the play go if they’re not 100% sure it’s offside. Too many times it’s kinda close and they’re blowing it dead because they don’t want to look bad but they’ve gotten the call wrong |

Lifted this from Rossi's column. Something has to change here. Some these guys need to score a little for them to remain competitive. Rutherford might be forced into a deal he doesn't want to make if they don't.
Alex Galchenyuk: no goals this season
Brandon Tanev: no goals in the last seven games
Zach-Aston Reese and Dominik Simon: One goal in the last 13 games
Teddy Blueger: One goal in the last 17 games - madmike71
Other than Tanev (who has played excellent) the other four have had great chances to score. There is still time.
I feel for Galchenyuk, playing with Simon and Blandisi. |

Also talked about Dauphin, MB and the festival tomorrow. Lots of Ukrainian people there. I used to skate in the 4 on 4 league there with the other junior guys. Not a great town but it’s a hockey town. They hosted the RBC cup back in 2010 I think it was. My grandparents homestead is about 40 minutes West on the way to Yorkton, SK. Darcy Hordichuk (another Uki boy) actually used to skate in Roblin where my family lives |

Yeah but the other lines look good so nothing likely to change. Just going to have to make the most of it
At some point (maybe in December) if he’s not making an impact or seeing enough ice either GMJR or maybe he and his agent will request a trade quietly. It is a contract year after all and there are a ton of injuries throughout the league
My guess is if moved GMJR would send Galch west but teams that could certainly be interested: STL, BOS, BUF, CBJ, maybe MN, possibly a swap with WPG, and finally Anaheim. Teams would be buying low since he doesn’t have any goals and not a ton of overall offense. I think Boston, STL, and Anaheim are the best fits personally |

Idk that I’d ever heard of him until just before the trade because of rumors. What I would say is that I thought his skills were obvious right from the get go. He was brand new to the NHL so a learning curve was to be expected but the skills were there. A couple turnovers, soft at times in front of his own net and on the boards but so good at supporting the play and solid with the puck. Turns out he just needed time to get comfortable
I thought Petts would be better though. His decision making with/without the puck has been slower and it’s allowing gaps to close/open in a hurry - WSCTeton17
I like Pettersson, as you know, but his decision making has always been a touch slow. Part of the learning curve I hope. |

I don’t want to move Galchenyuk but.. Anaheim’s potential top 6 if they acquired him:
Rakell-Henrique-Silfverberg
Galchenyuk-Getzlaf-Kase
Boston: Marchand-Bergeron-Pasta
Galchenyuk-Krejci-Heinen
STL: Perron- ROR-Schwartz
Galchenyuk-Aachen-Blais |

I was just about to ask about jj without bias. Due to work and living in western Canada I miss most pens game except the final 5 minutes. But he seems to be out for very few goals against even in our losses. Was wondering how the eye test was for him. Haven’t even read about his Corsi here in awhile. That must be an rw compliment towards jj lol

Seems slower than last year though don’t you think? Less fluid is how I would describe it |

Plus minus is not an indicator of ones performance, much of it is just timing BUT it does say something and he’s third on the Pens going into tonight’s matchup. He’s even tonight. Marino and Dumo are +4 |

I've liked every line that has Kahun and McCann together. They have some serious chemistry and with another speed guy like Tanev or Rust are giving teams fits.
Might be interesting to keep together, but eventually Hornqvist has to fit somewhere. |

Canada is a huge melting pot but a lot of the people coming over are Middle Eastern/Asian but lots of black people as well - I’m not racist so don’t construe this as such. Immigrants often flock to the major port cities and their suburbs. The major port cities are Toronto and Vancouver. If I had to guess I would say East Indian would be the most common
Don lives in Mississauga which is where my former teammate is from (half Jamaican half white decent). Very large middle eastern / black communities. My sister moved there because her son was one of the few black kids at his school in Calgary
So the reason why I explained that is because Don is referencing the ethnic people of color around him who he sees not wearing poppies - WSCTeton17
Ah gotcha. I dunno. He made no direct reference to skin color so I feel like a lot of people are assuming who he was talking about. Does it make them wrong? Not exactly but meh. Society is too soft these days. |

I get that but not being able to watch any games I have nothing but a box score to look at. That and the fact there’s minimal mention of him here leads me to the conclusion he is doing ok |

Since this is apparently a rich white boy sport I don’t know who would even be watching to be offended. I do th think too many Somalians or Chinese are watching coaches corner |

They should probably look to trade Sid. They haven’t scored 7 with Sid and no Geno for a few weeks. He can go be the guy somewhere else. |
