The thing is, the personnel changes have been:

Gardiner for Barrie: yeah, I miss that stretch pass and breakout, but he was not good defensively. Barrie should at the very least be Gardiner good, and plays on the right side, which we needed badly in our top 4.

Hainsey out: c'mon. He was awful.

Zaitsev for Ceci: I wasn't expecting much and I think this has been a wash.

Dermott and Holl: they've been solid; this is a far better bottom pairing, probably the best we've had in a long time.

Kadri out, Kerfoot in: honestly, another wash here. Kerfoot's been a relentless forechecker, faster than Kadri, but not as good on the draw/defensively. But our 3rd line has never been a shutdown line for us, so this shouldn't really matter.

Brown out, Moore/Mickey in: I don't even know if we're directly comparing here, but Brown's probably on par with either of these guys. He was a good PKer, and probably missed there.
