An old timey seasoned vet former college player with rings who would never sit back and allow these kids to party all night before games. Or a young analytic kid who never played a lick and who got his job in the Soo because of Grandaddy.

looking at it another way - in just 18 months Dubas has rid the team of any grit at all, replacing it with a set of players who are virtually identical except for varing degress of talent, small, quick, skilled.

great - the defense is decimated, the back up goaltending situation is a gong show and its all good 'cause the underlying numbers are good.

dude - they are out of a playoff sport, special teams are a farce - and you have zero CAP space to address it.

that's what Dubas has achieved in 18 months.

Concur: 1.25 years on the job is not enough time. The sub-par jobs he's done with contract negotiations are not what ails this current lineup.

Just so many puzzling moves. Give the kids whatever money they want, let them sit out part of the season, or Marner and Matthews share an A, let them do what they want.
