Sure.
Apart from the fact that I was right on Bobrovsky, Holtby, Vasilevskiy, Gibson going to be legit elite nhl goalies, Lehner being a top15 nhl starter and Sparks and Hutch not being nhl backups while McElhinney should have been kept by the Leafs.

Really went out on a (frank)ing limb there, Max.

Andersen = Reimer

Schneider is one of the best goalies in the world (you still said this during the time he went a literal year without a win )

You said the Leafs/Dubas were stupid for not getting Lehner as the backup, like that was ever even a possibility.

Leafs had to keep Sparks because you can't do a guy dirty like that. As an organisation, it sets a bad tone to future potential players. But that's not something you need worry about because you have no dog in the race, so you can talk about it however you wish.

Keeping Sparks is only a mistake in hindsight. Right move, wrong outcome.

Now keeping all three backups on the roster for the entire preseason, and exposing them on waivers after allowing all that time for injuries, is questionable management.
Especially if the choice was preordained and Sparky was always going to be the guy.

not even a bird with a very small brain can be dumb enough to try and argue that Burke's inheritance and Dubas' inheritance are even remotely close.

what did Dubas have on day one?
let's see... Matthews, Marner, Rielly, and tons of CAP space
Burke had Matt Stajan as his #1 Center... I'm not going to bother going any further.

jeez

Yea, Burke had spare parts not even good enough to build Frankenstein.

Again, this is all just hyperbole: "better GM". "players with heart". "Mark Hunter, good ol' hockey guy..." "if Lou was still in charge..." blah blah blah.

Give the guy in charge now a chance to do something. He had a cap nightmare to navigate through, thanks to Lou, and ended up overpaying for Marner (and the verdict isn't even out on that yet), like that extra 1.25-2M would really be the difference maker on this team.

Let the guy in charge put his coach in, see what he can do. Let the guy in charge now make the adjustments he needs to do and he can lay in the bed he made, but not until he's actually been given a chance.

Step 1, turf melander .
Step 2, turf mm.
Step 3, turf dubass
Step 4, turf babs

I actually agree. Could’ve saved a million on Nylander and two each on Matthews and Marner. Hell, just doing the latter would be fine.

I still think Babcock is not getting anywhere near the performance out of his line up that he should. He doesn’t deploy his team properly (know this one first hand) and overplays/underplays the wrong players (still recovering from the drinking). I think it’s time he goes.

As for Dubas: maybe, maybe not. Not a fan if it’s true he came out and basically said “all is fine, the underlying numbers are good.” That’s Garth Snow level of dumbassery.

That's because you are comparing their cap hit against comparable players who signed for 2-3 years. That's not fair.
