Wentz had a poor sequence in that next to last drive but really hard to blame the guy. I blame the front office. They lack talent at the wide receiver position. Without Jackson and Jeffrey, they don't have anything. Easy pickings for a defensive genius like Belichik.

Agreed.
Starting receivers out and starting running back out.
Not a recipe for a win.

Three straight pisspoor throws
- KINGKENZO

Yup. And that was the game.

I know the receivers are piss poor but Wentz missing on 3 straight in that spot of the game is terrible.

They need a lot next year honestly and Howie's drafting track record does not exactly inspire confidence.

The guy was trying to be the offense basically by himself. He was knocked around all game. Give the guy better protection and more weapons and he's a stud.

The Fly in the ointment here is that you have it backwards. You don't make the lineup to get Twarynski going. You make the lineup to get Giroux going. Do you really believe that playing Twarynski with Giroux is going to do that? Not likely. None of those players you listed should be playing with Giroux. That's simply a bad call.
- MJL

Im not looking to get Twarynski going, I dont see him being an NHL regular. Yes we want Giroux to get going but we also need guys like Hayes to get going. My lineup is trying to get Hayes going. Giroux can handle himself. He can perform at a top level with less talent, a guy like Hayes cant. Ideally a better 3rd line option would be the best choice but until Laughton is back. We make due.

I agree he needs weapons. The line is fine. Jordan Howard could’ve made a real difference in this game. The eagles defense is at least coming together at the right time

dont spindoctor this. In that situation, the lack of talent on offense was meaningless. The receivers on those plays were open and his passes were poor. He missed them. This is the third time this season he has had the opportunity to lead them on a game tying or winning drive and did not perform well.
He is as culpable for this loss as the GM and the coach

Giroux is not performing now. How are you missing that point? Putting Twarynski with Giroux is a horrendous idea. If Giroux can perform with less talent, what is he waiting for now? For the lesser talent to show up?

Giroux needs to go back on Couturiers wing.

He did miss them, didn't deny that. That's what saying he was poor on that sequence means. It is absurd to say he is culpable for this loss. No QB should be expected to lead the team to victory with basically two receivers, 86 and 88, against one of the best defensive coaches in the history of the game. That's not spin, that is the facts.

Nah, that's your opinion. The fact that Wentz has no weapons to work with and a terrible corps of wide receivers is a fact.

the game changed when Lane Johnson got hurt. Fact
The Eagles were undermanned. Fact
This left them for very little margin for error. Fact
On the last drive, each receiver was open. Fact
Wentz misfired on three straight. Fact
Wentz underperformed when he had the opportunity. Fact

Realizing what he has to work with and giving him some leeway is one thing. Not holding responsible and making excusing for him underperforming is another. Fact

An NFL game comes down to more than 3 plays. Fact.
That the Eagles even had a chance in the game offensively was because Wentz battled and gave them a chance. He threw a beautiful ball under pressure off his back foot that a good wide receiver would've caught but Agholor misplayed. Fact.
The 2nd best receiver that the Eagles had, Goedert dropped at least 3 passes. Fact.

There were no excuses made. You're mistaken. I clearly posted that he was subpar on that sequence of plays.

The comment that I made that you called spin of "The guy was trying to be the offense basically by himself. He was knocked around all game. Give the guy better protection and more weapons and he's a stud" is accurate.

I'll finish with an opinion. Blaming Wentz for that loss is asinine.

Meaningless at that point. Ball in hand with the opportunity to tie the game. It was the most important drive. He threw a great ball that Aghalor misplayed, on 4th down, which had he made a better throw on any on the three previous passes, wouldnt have been necessary. Fact
You are out of your league discussing football. Fact

You saying hes not culpable for this loss or acknowledging he underperformed is asinine. Your comment is generalization, obvious and not pertinent to the specific game situation being discussed

All the hyperbole you want to offer is not going to change anything. I'm not sure how much clearer I can be. I don't think anyone who thinks an entire football game comes down to 3 missed passes on one sequence has the standing to tell anyone they're out of their league in discussing the game. If we want to talk about ifs and what wouldn't have been necessary, (you made this really easy for me) with the way the defense played, if any of the Eagles wide receivers had stepped up and had even a decent game and given Wentz more targets to use, the Eagles probably would have won the game. On pretty much every key 3rd down with the Eagles on offense, Belichek knew all he had to do was double Wentz.
