I think whoever signs Hall this offseason is going to be making a large mistake

Will not be the Isles. They have two buildings.

I read it and it sounds like complete nonsense. Writer looking for clicks.. He has a million points in the article why it makes zero sense too. He is only 26, the Fans love him, They have tons of solid young D-prospects and players that will be on team for a while. .. truly doesn't make a lot of sense.

comparing it to Jerome Iginla situation is absurd too. Johnny is 26.. Iginla scored 50 goals when he was 30 for Calgary. He scored over 30 for the next 4 years after that .. one 40+ goal season. so you are comparing a 26 year old Johnny G to when Iginla finally slowed down at 35.

Agreed. He’s going to get paid more than he’s worth, he’ll be past his prime most of the contract, and injured a decent percent of it.

😂

That may be going a little too far. Love to have the guy just not sure if with his age, injuries, this would be a wise ten million per signing? Still have to lock up Barzal, Pulock, Toews the following year... That’s a lot of dough.

This is why it's very important for Wahlstrom to work out. It would be a huge help with the Cap.

It's not nonsense, but it's literally just an author posing the question of "should they consider trading Gaudreau?". Whoever posted the "rumor" that the Flames might move him kinda took that article way out of context.

No they all have to be locked up this offseason. I doubt they're adding Hall for ~$10M plus signing Barzal for around the same, Pulock for probably $6M-$7M and Toews for somewhere around $4M-ish

Now isn't the time to bring it up for a lengthy discussion but, as of now, the Isles have about $16M in cap space this offseason which isn’t gonna be enough to sign all of 13/6/25. They’re either going to have to trade someone or consider trading Toews.

If the Isles are still going strong at the deadline and Halls available, I would not be surprised if Lou trades for him as a PO run rental. Ticks all the boxes the Isles are looking for in the goal scorer/finisher they have been looking for.

Don’t need to sign him to a new contract, just use him for the PO run.

What’s a ton?

I think He will be all over it if this team is still hovering at the top of the standings no doubt in my mind.

Tell Lou I said hello next time you talk to him

For a rental??? Depends on what you mean by "a ton".... I suppose if there's a bidding war for his services, then you could be right.

He'll be the top UFA available unless the Devils make some real progress on a contract, which they haven't yet.

I'd imagine they'd want a premium for trading him to a division rival as well. I'm willing to bet you see the Avs take a big run at him, they have plenty of cap space to re-sign him and some good prospects they can move.

Stone went for Branstrom and a 2nd. Hall could be had for Wilde, Bellows, and a pick

They want the best return possible weather it’s the Flyers, Islanders or Ducks. It’s not like Hall is going to hurt the Devils in the POs
