Hopefully this rough patch is a learning tool for the Leafs. As far as Babcock and Keefe....well with Babs the Leafs have underperformed since Jan of last year. He has made some puzzling and confusing moves with his stars ice time. His love for Marincin, Shore and Gauthier is getting old.

As for Keefe, it seems like his players love him. Then again the Leafs have spent the most money in the league developing the Marlies and ensuring they have had astacked AHL roster since Keefe has been there. Tough to tell how good he really is.

However, if Dubas really is Shannies guy then Dubas should be allowed to hire his own coach and either sink or swim.

I think Shanny just envisioned Babs as the guy who is going to lift the cup...I am sure they are close buddies.

It is a tough firing because if results don't become positive then the heat is on Shanny and Dubas and not the new coach.

I truly think its time now though. Sometimes you have to be bold.

I’d rather the Leafs wait until the offseason to name Keefe coach. Just tank this year, trade UFAs, get a top-10 pick. Revamp the D in the summer.

If a change is to happen, it's got to be done by Christmas. The more time a new coach has to implement a system, the quicker the positive results will come.... hopefully.

Ahl players that suck and therefore will never be called up by Babcock are advocating a coach they get along with - hoping he might give them a few games in the NHL...
No conflict of interest there!
