I think that fact hit him pretty hard. Either that or Buffalo did.

If Vegas and Chicago hang on to win, they will both pass the Leafs in the standings. Leafs will be 21st.

Rough game in Vegas.
- GreatGigInTheSky

The Flames have been very Leafy too.

They could help each other out with a shakeup.

Seeing how pissed off Tavares was last night said a lot. Haven't seen him like that before. Guy thought he signed up with a contender...

Connor Fu king Brown 2000 mins = 24 goals same time frame.

This is simply not true. Nylander had better PPG and overall production >Pasata had a 70 point season but Nylander had 2 60 point seasons.

Matthews has a lot of growing to do? Really? Look at his production

- RogerRoeper

They play like little girls. Matthews did have one game recently where I actually saw him body check a guy.

Matthews has been the only guy who looks like he is trying. Some of these other clowns are like deer in the headlights...

You've mentioned Pastrnak but fail to make all the palyers making 6-7,15 ho have 1 50 point season. Clayton Keller got 7.15 per...

Nylander is going to have 3 60 point seasons in 3 full years. He deserves more than 6.25.

So yes, he did not get overpaid.

- RogerRoeper

Keller is 7.15 is starting in year 3 of nylander's deal. Keller will be overpaid in year one of that deal. Nylander will still be overpaid in year 3 of his.

When dufus signed nylander, he over paid.

He wanted to change the market on rfas.

He misread it. He (frank)ed up.

No doubt Leaf fans are looking for change. I think it would be a big mistake to make a panic decision, be it with players or management. This storm will pass and the team that comes out on the other side of this will be stronger. I do wonder what type of rearguard could be acquired with Nylander and one of the pending ufa defenceman being the return?

As a Habs fan, I gotta say this about Matthews: He has elite talent, and I'm jealous, really. The sad thing is, as well as he's doing putting up the numbers, he's able to do it with little to no real effort. His shot is a laser. Here's where I'm gonna lose the room. He reminds me of Pacioretty.

Lemme explain.

When Patches captained the Habs, his shot was good. Our real offensive threat on the wall. BUT... He was soft, avoided hits, never really was a grinder.

If Matthews can take some notes, he should watch the Habs v Washington game last week. Was it Ovies best night? Hell no, but NOBODY could say he didn't lay it all out there. He doesn't just score at will, he'll hit you so hard you go to the quiet room.

The first time I saw Ovechkin play was his "coming out" party at the Juniors. He was supposed to be elite. But Team Canada pasted him to the boards and ice. He could have sulked. But he changed his game. Got hard and edgy. He evolved into the player we see now, one of the purest goal scorers in NHL history.

If Mathews tries, and works hard, he could be the next Ovechkin. It's up to him.

Gotta admit that I’m shocked at where we are in the standings. I’ve been wrong about the leafs before, but never this wrong.
I had them in contention for the presidents trophy this season and right now I don’t see how they can make the playoffs.

You would think I’d have learned by now.

Still 60 games left.

I hope they are fine

Enjoy the games and lets hope Dubas makes some changes and the team starts giving a poop.

Lots of time but some of the number crunchers are saying that they need to win at better than a 600 clip to get in.
That’s no easy feat.

Not sure if AM has the desire to be the best right now.

But at the same time, he always have to look behind while playing. Last time he was run over, there was no one to stand up for him. Actually no one does that for anyone in this team.
