It shouldn't surprise anyone at this point that if Skinner, Eichel and Reinhart cant create a win by themselves, the Sabres lose

It's an utterly flawed roster design

- jcragcrumple

It is not.

The Bruins are designed exactly the same.

2 or 3 top guys, a high scoring defenseman, a couple of tweeners and a cast of "who's who"?

But Botterill designed this team, so naturally you hate it.

The problem is not the gm. It's the lack of heart in the dressing room.

You and I don't agree a lot but I concur - this is on the players.

3 coaches they have tuned out now.

They dont.

All of his UFAs suck so much ass. The players he picked or re-signed are processed garbage juice. Sobotka, the twins, Vesey, Sheary, plus Okposo, all of em. They suck

Any word on the injured?

If I read correctly, when a player goes on ir they have to be out for 10 days... or 10 games?

1- mojo, put on ir last week, is he close?

2- Larry, put on ir two days ago...

3- okoposo hurt yesterday, any updates? Was it a concussion? Put On ir yet? Would they long term ir him if sever enough?

4- Tage hurt tonight.

5- sobotka... I forgot about him... that was the knee... he probably won’t be back soon

That’s a rough 10 days...

- Gr8daygo

7 days, but it's retroactive. MoJo can come back anytime. Larsson and Sobotka are also on IR. Okposo is not. No reason to even discuss LTIR until Bogo is back. It wouldn't help at all.

Botterill had a chance to turn more of the roster over this season at no cost and chose not to.

Gets Okposo off the books for the year? I wish him the best. Great guy and all. But...

I mean, Johansson is good, Hutton is good for his cap hit, and Gilmour is a solid #6/7.

The problem is the depth scoring once again is awful, and the coach loves bad D men.

Vesey is on pace for 0

Evan Rodrigues has 1 (frank)ing goal over his last 37 games. That’s approaching the Leino scale as well.

We knew 28/22 wouldn’t score.

The coach loves the idiot pair that generates 0 offense

He doesn’t feel like helping Mitts at all.

It’s collectively awful.

The 4th liners? Those were the UFAs. That's our problem? The 4th liners?

Vesey had 3 straight years of goal scoring in the high teens. There was nothing to suggest he wouldn't match that.

He gave up NOTHING for Sheary.

What do you want him to do with Okposo?

Yeah, he needs a top 6 forward or two.

If you hear a report that he might be out for the rest of the year, then it's a conversation. I haven't heard anything on him yet.

And yet that wasn't a problem for him. FFS in 2011, Cody McCormick had 8 goals and 12 assists. Imagine that. Imagine having depth players that hit, fight and actually contribute on the score board occasionally

I mean jesus christ, Vesey and Sheary might not hit Cody McCormick levels of ass

I still have a fear that he likes Sheary enough to bring him back. Can't shake it.

Stop with the "4th line is the problem" crap, just so you can point your finger at the gm.

It's lazy.

He turned over the middle 6, and they're not producing. They were earlier in the year and all of you were licking their sacs, but now they're not and it's because of the guys he chose to bring back on the 4th line?

Bullcrap.

There you go.
They talk about changing culture...not so much.
They have a very fine culture of losing and being medicore.
And a history of bringing guys in who then do exactly what this crew has done, forget how to score.
The list I posted is just the latest version of graveyard players, they come here and die.

When you keep the same poop, you get the same poop results. This shouldn't surprise anyone. This was clear in July that he didn't do enough. Garbage. Absolute garbage

Good thing we have 18 defensemen

Someone posted earlier, "he needs to find another Chris Drury".

Can a Chris Drury type work with two former #2 OA picks and be effective at leading them? Would they respond to a guy like that?

These two + Erod and Mittelstadt are 5x the issues 22/28 are though

Like I’m not sure how you can defend 71’s lack of production anymore as it not being a huge issue

He’s getting Skinner as a line-mate

Sheary is a guy playing for his next contract. This is peak motivated Connor and it's not very good. Imagine what we'd get out of multi-year contract security CS.

They need Mojo back, and it's time to deal a D.

But these current guys in the dressing room need to take control of themselves, look in the mirror, and decide if they want to keep losing or start winning.

They play 14 minutes a night too. Erod isn't getting it done either, no doubt. None are. This roster construction is (frank)ed. Botterill gave us 3 good forwards and 16 defensemen who are the same

I didnt say the 4th line was the problem. It isnt part of the solution though

Johansson has been good, vesey has been a disappointment. Without the rookie he didnt draft it is the same forward group. It is what it is

My favorite blunder so far is that this team was too good to let Cozens stick around and see if he could be a factor.

We’re just too good to ever try and ice the best lineup possible

He really epitomizes the problem with this team for years now. He's a soft perimeter player. Sometimes he looks fast and sticks out, but in the end, it produces nothing.

It didnt work with oreilly but he hadnt won anything... yet

They need more better players, and coincidentally traded away exactly what they need now for nothing
