Sit Haag, not Braun or Gostisbehere. Has anyone noticed in the last handful of games of how Gostisbehere's ice time is rising. Including leading all defenseman in ice time in a recent game. Any idea why? - MJL
the idea was to give hagg some playing time i believe. perhaps prepping for a trade. i have slotted myers over hagg all year. even if hagg outplayed in camp. haha. then it becomes who to sit. braun or myers most likely, but i would do braun for a couple of games if 1 had to sit. if you want highest skilled 6 then myers should stay in rotation all year.

The idea in the NHL is to win games. Not going to play Haag to showcase him. NHL scouts know who Haag is as a player. Playing him is not going to change anything one way or another. Braun is the better player. |

it seems like the organization is making an effort to get a lot of the prospects a taste of the NHL level game. Perhaps in a effort to educate them on what they really need to focus on.
Even a game or two is an excellent education.

agree, said the same thing. Beginning of the year, crazy schedule and injuries, it will benefit.

Question, is the D better this year than last? Answer, Yes! Niskanen ain't Pronger but who is. And who else was available for what the Flyers were willing to give up. BTW the biggest improvement is on the PK. They just need to figure out how to close games and that comes with maturity...hang on its gonna be a bumpy ride - DANCER
True...fasten your safety belts, clench you buttocks! It’s goin’ be a bumpy ride!

Who on this hockey board has been defending Hayes? - opeth_pa
People were literally saying he needs time to gel with teammates. That he needs to get acclamation to the city.

Ghost's defensive zone play has been a lot better in the last handful of games. I was fine with Hagg getting a game. Isles are a physical team and Myers struggled the last few games. |

People should calm down about how bad Fletcher is, he isn't playing. He has added the pieces to make the Flyers a better team. A couple of games ago this board was alive with people saying how good the team is and how they don't want to miss watching them anymore. Two games later, people have to be told to back away from the ledge.
It's going to be alright - in AV and staff I trust. They'll right the ship. |

Yeah, that Dubnyk for Brendan Warren trade must be keeping him up at night. - jmatchett383
He admitted that He lucked into that
I love how we don’t mention the banzai trade? Getting bent over by the sanders of all teams.

They are on pace for 98 points right now. That's with Voracek, JVR and Hayes producing very little to almost nothing. They will be fine. Keep working on the structure in there game. |

not sure paying Matty N 6.75M this year is a win. - corduroy
He's been the 20+ minute a night top pairing RHD the Flyers have needed ever since they foolishly signed MacDonald in 2014 and Niskanen went to the Caps. |

I doubt a Hagg trade is coming soon given that Morin, Friedman, and Bigras are all injured right now, and Morin is done till 20-21. |

Taylor Hall has scored 2 goals this year. Hayes has scored 4 goals this year. Hall was a Hart winner and will probably get close to $12/year on his next contract. Hall is a LW, but Hayes is a center making @ 7mil/Yr. By that standard, was Fletcher an idiot especially when the Flyers needed a center? Will the next GM to sign Hall be an idiot? Who knows? But no matter what Hall does this year, he will get a good contract and teams will be lining up for him. |

Hayes has really under performed on the score sheet so far, but with Patrick's situation adding another top 6 center this summer was a must. |

Oh, I agree that Hayes has under-performed. But what I was trying to point out is that there are much worse under-performing examples out there for much more money. |

Putting Giroux back to wing isn’t going to cure his issues. Giroux has had plenty of looks at the net and chances to be different maker. |

You said, "How long till he starts trading picks and players and getting ganked in each and everyone of them as he has in every trade he has ever completed?"
I just gave an example that shows that he hasn't been "ganked" in each and every one of them. Granted, he doesn't have a great track record, but to say he's gotten "ganked" in each and every trade he's ever made is pretty silly. |

Man, Flyers really have egg on their face taking Shutdown Seanie over Dougie Hamilton.
Because the Flyers never make the right decision, ever. |
