not sure paying Matty N 6.75M this year is a win. If it is than this is the outlier of his trades:

Man, Flyers really have egg on their face taking Shutdown Seanie over Dougie Hamilton.

Because the Flyers never make the right decision, ever.

I'm amazed how he's on his third team, has always been highly productive.

lol I'm not sure how anyone is even speaking of that Niskanen trade in any terms other than pleasant. He's been a rock and probably our best Dman so far.

Yeah that is my only concern that he ends up on line without size. But I hope they know what they are doing.

Remember when Crosby got ragdolled in his first-ever game against the Flyers by Derian Hatcher?

Man, we sure showed him.

Yeah, but I can still remember Crosby eating the boards, but I can't remember all of those goals scored against the Flyers.

frost has good size, he put on good weight the last 2 years. I think he goes about 185-190. That is good, he will still get pushed around until he gets use to the NHL play. Farabee is interesting, even at 165 he handles the NHL well.

The Flyers had no issue keeping Konecny as a small player right out of juniors. The knock on Frost has been consistency in pace of play.

How about the hockey news not ranking Patrick in the top 100 under 21. There are a lot of people ready for throw in the towel with Patrick. There once was a young Center named Sean Couturier.

I realize Patrick hasn't displayed Couturier's elite defensive hockey sense that was evident early but he's got his own bag of tricks to develop consistency with. Would I like to have a player with the early success of the 3 players drafted after him? Of course but the Flyers were lucky to draft a player with Patrick's pedigree and it's still too early to give up on him.

I think the difference is what Career threatening injury or scenario did Coots have vs NopA?

The answer is none so I am not sure why you would bring Couturier up.

It seems to be a virtual lock that NoPa doesnt play this year and almost seems certain he doesnt play this season. That is not a good thing at all in anyway for a young player developing.

What exactly have you read that makes it seem like a "virtual lock" that Patrick doesn't play this season? Nothing but fear mongering has made it seem that way.

I bring up Couturier because he is the best recent example of fans ready to give up a player far too soon. He's had to deal with his fair share of injuries along the way. Including a puck to the head in his rookie season.

I dont think it is that big of a deal for a forward. Forward is probably the easiest position to play

Chuckles is grasping at straws. How long till he starts trading picks and players and getting ganked in each and everyone of them as he has in every trade he has ever completed?
- corduroy

You kidding. Look how he owned Doug Wilson in the Braun trade. The Sharks have gone in the tank without Braun.

The idea in the NHL is to win games. Not going to play Haag to showcase him. NHL scouts know who Haag is as a player. Playing him is not going to change anything one way or another. Braun is the better player.

Didn’t u beat the drum young players need to play to improve ? Now you say it doesn’t matter. Interesting take

All the gm is doing is giving frost a taste of nhl life hay he earned. My guess this isn’t a long term move at all. Now if he plays lights out then all bets are off

Perhaps that ranking has something to do with his career being in jeopardy?

Yeah, that Dubnyk for Brendan Warren trade must be keeping him up at night.
- jmatchett383

Omg does that mean he can turn Brendan Warren into something valuable for us too?
