This is denial on your part. It's almost December. There has been no discernible progress. Reports are that he hasn't been on the ice since the beginning of November. That means that attempts to begin to skate did not go well. Again, tell me when another player has been classified as week to week with an injury status? There is no time table for his return because they don't have one. The possibility of Patrick not playing this season is very real. I think you've confused that with he is out for the year. Nobody, including me has said that.

You said, "How long till he starts trading picks and players and getting ganked in each and everyone of them as he has in every trade he has ever completed?"

I just gave an example that shows that he hasn't been "ganked" in each and every one of them. Granted, he doesn't have a great track record, but to say he's gotten "ganked" in each and every trade he's ever made is pretty silly.

- jmatchett383

Let me re-phrase

"In the vast majority of trades"

Better?

I think so. From what I've read, he was a bit banged up prior to Saturday, but ultimately played. He most likely slots back in with Provy and Hagg to the press box.

AV said Myers may play on Tuesday after being scratched Saturday.

They're definitely putting Frost in a position to succeed. I'm eager to see how he does with those linemates.

There isn't anyone 21 or under in the Flyers org that has shown a higher level of effectiveness at the NHL level. It's not debatable. He's in the top 3. That hockey news ranking reaks of recency bias.
- Baxter27

NP's NHL track-record hasn't been much to write home about, given the sheer amount of opportunity the team has showered him with.

Plus, the THN list is ranked on pure upside. There's a lot of guys on that list who haven't played pro yet, and in some cases haven't even been drafted yet.

Yea, what he has done in the NHL to this point is not what it's about. Also doesn't help him much.

Excited but also concerned. Frost didn’t have a great camp, which led to ups and downs in the minors. I find it hard to believe he’s gonna step in and player than Giroux, Couturier or Hayes at center.

Yeah. I expect some growing pains here, but I want to see how he responds. I wonder if Myers draws back in?

I wonder if Dave Scott can see the "Action" chuckles is providing with the flurry of roster moves.

That ought to keep his mind off of declining attendance and a crappy secondary ticket market, don't you think?

That sharks have actually been pretty bad this year lol...worse than the flyers for sure

Edit: not that I'm a fan of the Braun trade but the sharks are 23rd in the league and on pace for 82 pts so not sure that's the trade you wanna focus on lol

- bulet13

I actually did mean the SHarks have gone in the tank. They have dropped off quite a bit since last year, the sarcasm was that it was because they lost Braun.

I personally think that your disdain for Fletcher is misplaced. I didn't agree with everything he did but he was hired with a mandate. The fault is with upper management if this doesn't work out quickly, not with Fletcher.

Maybe Patrick is off seeing a specialist outside the city. Maybe there’s no progress. It’s all speculation at this point.
If it was that serious the Flyers can always put him on LTIR.
The fact they haven’t might say something maybe not.
My wife used to get severe cluster migraines. They would last a month then go away. Two years later she would get them again.
She grew out of them according to the doctors.
Patrick may always deal with this or he could grow out of them.
Until there is an official statement one way or the other I’m in the wait and see mode with no expectations.

As you know, I completely agree with this assessment. Fletch has done fine with the mandate he has been given. I'm just glad he wasn't given the mandate to trade prospects and picks like crazy to win now.

Re: Patrick
After back reading, there is the obvious piece I think shouldn’t be left unsaid. Just because Patrick’s timetable is unknown, I won’t assume that folks are being negative. I’ll go out on a limb and suppose everyone here wants Patrick to be fully healthy and treatment to be successful and a return to hockey as soon as possible. Hoping for the best and realizing the current situation can happen at the same time.

If you understand LTIR and how it works, you'd realize that the fact that he has not been placed on LTIR has no relevance to the seriousness of his condition.
It's pretty clear that they have no time frame for his return to the lineup at this point. That he could miss the entire season is a realistic possibility unfortunately.

I have a lot of sympathy for the kid. This is putting his career and his dream on hold and possibly in jeopardy. It's hard to live a normal life with something like this let alone play professional hockey.

So if your boss wants boss for action, you’ll do things to provide “action”

You do not know what his next move is. Attendance is sinking and ticket holders aren’t happy with the secondary market

What do you think he is going to do? He will do anything to appease Scott and save his job.

Once the “action” of moves subsides, what is chuckles next move? What will Scott tell him? If s it says jump, what does chuckles do?

This team is no longer run by a single man, it’s run by a corporation. Corporations care about shareholder returns, and not much else

Which prospect has the Chuck Fletcher traded on the Flyers?

If the team wins then attendance will come back up. That is the way sports work.

Winning the cap cup, winning the top prospect list, none of that puts people in the seats..Winning games does and to this point I give Fletcher a slightly above average score for the team he has assembled to do that . He has delivered what his bosses asked without trading any of the prospects.

if I wake up tomorrow and Frost + Sanheim + draft picks are traded to Montreal for Shea Weber then yah Fletcher deserves the Chuckles moniker. To this point he hasn't done that though and if Hexy got 5 years , 2 of which were "fixing problems" then Fletcher at least gets two years IMO.

Leopards do not change their spots. Past performance dictates future behaviors. Feel free to glow about this teams stabilization in net (chuckles had no part of) and it’s one point improvement over last season.

It’s amazing the seats were filled till corporate got involved. Feel free to ignore that as well.
