Tbh, I think it cuts deeper than you’re admitting, lol..
I don’t “ok boomer” people I know, because I know it offends them. You guys have no clap-back. - Arctic_AARDVARK
I really don't understand what is or should be offensive or bothersome about the "ok boomer" thing...
clap-back for what?
there genuinely seems to be a difference between how groups of people of different ages/persuasions/whatever view or take this stuff...
amazes me... |

Is the proving or disproving your theory?
Is Barrie playing bad because he is not worried about the contract?
How does this work? - senstroll
money is motivation. contract duration is the motivation.
once you sign the contract... you can't suddenly become non-motivated... that would be your job. |

He calls people snowflakes every day
What is the difference? - Santo_44
Well, ok boomer is generalizing an entire age group, implying that if your per a certain age, you’re prone to being “ok boomer’d”..
It really is an ignorant thing to say to someone. Like, “you’re old and irrelevant”
That’s not nice.. but go ahead and do it idgaf, I just meant I’m not gonna “ok boomer” my Dad or uncles.. but sometimes it takes every ounce of restraint to not call them that. Lol. |

Wasn't part of the issue the "no rookie bonus" in his ELC deal? Somehow, that became Dubas' fault even though Lou was the GM at the time.
I also recall reading that Ferris wanted that rookie bonus money to be added to the contract. If that's true then yes, he did hold them hostage for more money. - PatC80
No, he just wanted the money that wasn't giving to him earlier if the rumours are true. Good for him.
Still he didnt miss a game and the team didnt have to sign him, had plenty of time still. The team chose to sign him
He held no one hostage.

I agree that it is never genuine because if it is, where's the "hometown" discount? Great you got your money and as Marner is finding out, the fanbase or the media are not very nice to underperformers. - Aaron_85
I don't think anyone would have even asked him to take the 'hometown discount'
He could have taken 9.5 per, been within market value and still been the richest RFA to come out of this summer. |

Well, people generally are more sensitive than they let on. Boomers do/say a lot of things that are outdated now. But no one wants to feel out of touch..
My dad said the same thing, but I don’t believe him, I think it would really bother him if I kept doing it. Boomers don’t have the tools necessary to engage in one of these meme things. They just grew up in a different time, with different rules. Boomers are dealing with the fact that they often have poor relationships with their kids because of massive philosophical differences.

alll had better years than nylander prior to signing. he should have ended up less than those guys. - Tumbleweed
totally true. How much did the media inflate his salary. Its amazing to have the coverage the leafs have, but when you get fanboys talking about it on a big platform everyday, you buiild up public support for crazy fanboy ideas. These players know it too. |

Depending on who you talked to, then 9.5 could have been the hometown discount. |

Has nothing to do with being a "boomer" and more so that fact most kids are different than their parents.
Meme things? How is that a thing? |

Same here,, last year he was a healthy scratch for 75 games?
This year, he's been one of our better defensemen. |

Barrie will do well with Dermott I think...One of the main reasons for the switch I think
Muzzin does a much better job raising players games so stick the weak link with him.
Then just throwing a prayer at Rielly. |

Call me when it's in a game.
Also, I agree with Poulin on leafs lunch today. The guys in Vegas should keep an even keel and not party too hard. Fans definitely see these guys losing and cashing huge pay checks and it doesn't look good. I get you want to live your life and you can, but keep it out of the public in these instances. Comes with the territory. |

Yes. But more so now. Young people I think are far less forgiving toward their parent improprieties, then the past generations.
Meme things as in they don’t as thoroughly understand all the memes, and the subsequent “ok boomer” memes made out of already exciting memes. |
