2014-15: 68 points (Shanny, Nonis, Dubas, Hunter)
2015–16: 69 points (Shanny, Dubas, Hunter, Babcock)
2016–17: 95 points (Shanny, Lou, Dubas, Hunter, Babcock)
2017–18: 105 points (Shanny, Lou Dubas, Hunter, Babcock)
2018–19: 100 points (Shanny, Dubas, Babcock)
2019-20: 82 point pace (Shanny, Dubas, Babcock)

The biggest changes in the last 2 years were dubas taking over for lou, adding tavares and adding the big caphits for willy, matthews and marner.

Dubas is responsible for the 4 big contracts. He pushed lou out on a team that was trending upwards.

I was open to taking a wait and see approach with dubas. But the writing is on the wall. he took risks on his big 3 signature rfa signings by overpaying. his trade for muzzin has been mixed, but his trade for barrie has been a mess.

the leafs gm role shouldn't be a entry level job where you allowed to make mistakes and learn on the job. it's time to cut ties and get someone in here to right the ship.

so much of this is true as well...

Yoou can win hockey games with all offence in EA NHL....

You cant in the real life where structure and proper roles are needed.

Say what you want, but 3rd and forth lines that can shut down and score from time to time are more important then have a line up of all offence. kadri wasnt all skill, but man did he make it hard on opposing teams... so did hainsey.

Yep. We're up front with our bumholeishness.

And I didn't tell you how to act, I told you how you overvalue players that you claim suck.

"Man, we need to get rid of Nylander, he's soft and doesn't care. How about McDavid and 2 1sts, probably an overpayment by Leafs, but pretty fair."

- jmatchett383

Ridiculous exaggeration doesn't help your point.

You should suggest instead that many people thought Nylander was on Par with Pastrnak. That would be the truth, and would be almost as ridiculous as your statement above which was said by nobody, ever.

Just a note from an old guy watching these clowns, then I will be off.

This team leaves me be Bonkers, Bothered and Belligerent.

From the net out:

- backup that was 0 for is gone, played crappy.
- Anderson has played well at moments but has looked terrible on many goals and in many situations. Why was he on his chest for both of the Marchand goals last game against Boston, poor positional tending has not helped this team at all.
- Defense - Barrie looks like he has no idea what the (frank) is going down... The boys forgot about defensive rotations that we teach/learn in Bantam.... Cecil looks like he never knew what defensive rotation even means.....Morgan has forgot how to play a man and not the puck....
- Forwards - Marner owes the Leafs a bunch of money back.... Willie is softer than a new fallen snow.... Matthews has only looked ok the past couple of games as far as his back checking and Give-a-fuuck-o-meter has been working. Injuries happen, but the boys outside of the top 4 guys can also score a god damn goal too.... Speza, retire.... Taveres has been snake biten i think, looks slow and over-paid.
- Babcock has to get his shiit together or fuuck right off. His use of these players is explainable. His systems are not working, the boys don't friggin get it Mike...FFS, I think anyone could have this result coaching this team.

- Bright points, the Goat has been a pleasant surprise. Sandin was awesome.

Cheers,

- bixll

Babs should like Tyson Barrie be Tyson Barrie..

I'm not sure why he's asking Barrie to 're-invent' his game.. Let him play the way he knows..

Great idea to have your NHL team being coached by a guy that had no manners (ask David Branch and Coyotes organization) and was involved with a bunch of people that were accused of sexually exploiting minors..

- MaximusAurelius

I'd love the Leafs to play like a team with no manners.

The Leafs aren't winning games...at all.

Your point was about offensive teams not "winning" and needing "grit." So many of the best teams in the league through the past decade have been offensive teams that WON in the regular season. The Leafs aren't winning in the regular season. This isn't the stupid "grit = win" in the playoffs argument that goes back and forth from team to team that wins.

People have to stop using the injury situation as justification for the Leafs not being able to keep the puck out of there own net when it matters. Saturday that got smoked by a team with huge injury issues, including the absence of both Crosby and Letang.

Leafs can score but they can't defend.

Their defensive woes are not just about their DMen.

Too many forwards are failing to execute their off-puck responsibilities.

Remember the Leafs have good overall possession numbers. The problem is that despite out possessing teams they cannot defend.

This team has been built around analytics...a huge mistake.

And get rid of Babcock, if dubas can't wheel a decent deal by seasons end then send him packin too... see if hunter is still interested in the job.

I am thinking Calgary would say no To Marner for Tkachuk. Unfortunately a trade between these teams wont be including tkachuk
- Aetherial

Love Tkachuk and probably agree. He'd have to really piss some people off in the dressing room to ever get moved. Although I'd imagine Marner is in the same boat with the Leafs.

I'd love to see a 20 minute power-forward on the team but really I don't have a problem with the top 6 fwds. I think the bottom 6 is where we're missing some heavier guys that might help the rest of the team play a little bit bigger than they do right now.

They rely on their goalie too much because they are too lazy and disinterested in playing defense. This is because they really don't give a poop about the coach and what he says.

I really don't think Babcock is coaching the team to do constant flybys and lose track of their defensive assignements all game. every game.

- Aetherial

Truth brov.

One thing though, during the therrien days... he was trying to make subban play def, or at least change his style for a more defensive role. Players grow up certain ways, and if you have a talent, you shouldnt be told to forget it and play a way that hasnt brought you success. Certain players should be insulated with players that will make up for defensive lapses.

The team is made up of more or less the same type. Yes laziness and a lack of heart is apparent, but whole are the shutdown dudes to clean up the pinches or the offensive chances the leafs top guns might take or make?

Welcome to Leaf Nation! Are you not entertained?!?!

- Hockey_Reverend

Remember that time with neon and kessel they had that losing streak to start the season. Lost in a gut punch kind of way to the Canucks and Cherry was basically begging leaf fans not to give up on the team after the game, and at the same time ripped the Canucks for some idiotic reason (winning was the problem I believe)... That belongs on your list.

Babcock is a poop coach, but I think shamaham and Dubas have more to do with the current issues in the roster composition than Babcock...

Kadri didn't let the team down, he tried to play physical against the broons cuz no one else was doing it and give it to them, but was penalized to the point of debilitating the team. He wouldn't have had to over do it if the team had pushed back with other players as well.
