2020 off season, If poop goes bad.

i think a safe bet is to put money on the fact there might be a bigger trade made then the: thorton or seguin or subban trade.

Could have 1 or a combo of the biggest trades in NHL history. As much as it would suck to see a mtthews or marner go, a team that craves scoring but who has alot of defensive 1-2 pairing defensman and gritty 3rd and 4th line wingers, might be jsut what the team needs.

I loved subban, but the stability that a webber brings, i cant say i wouldn't do the trade every time if i had a redo.

If the system isn't working what do you do? yeah that's correct, change the system.
- bobbyisno1

Some Leaf fans want to believe that the fix is about flipping a switch, making a few adjustments and everything is going to be okay. Despite having played more games, the Leafs have the same number of regular time wins as the Senators.

Multiple mistakes have been made in putting this roster together. Most important, this is a soft team. Everybody knows this, they lose too many one on one battles when it really matters.

Ridiculous exaggeration doesn't help your point.

You should suggest instead that many people thought Nylander was on Par with Pastrnak. That would be the truth, and would be almost as ridiculous as your statement above which was said by nobody, ever.

- Aetherial

Pasternak may be the second best player in the league right now .....so lot's of GMs are a bunch of stupid idiots. And whoever signed him to that deal should be awarded the next 6 Cups.

This is a very good post.

Is there one player in the NHL that could help turn around the Leafs? There are only a few. My first choice would be Drew Doughty.

I'm not saying I agree that they should look into Doughty but I do think they should consider it.

You know why this debate is absolute nonsense? Because it assumes that both Dubas and Babcock aren't responsible.

Of course they BOTH are. List the issues with the team unbiasedly and I'm sure the list will point to both of these guys.

- The Law

Agreed.
Except you forgot a third person in the "who's shoulders does the blame lie with "....and its the one who should carry most of the blame.

The players.

Just a note from an old guy watching these clowns, then I will be off.

This team leaves me be Bonkers, Bothered and Belligerent.

From the net out:

- backup that was 0 for is gone, played crappy.
- Anderson has played well at moments but has looked terrible on many goals and in many situations. Why was he on his chest for both of the Marchand goals last game against Boston, poor positional tending has not helped this team at all.
- Defense - Barrie looks like he has no idea what the (frank) is going down... The boys forgot about defensive rotations that we teach/learn in Bantam.... Cecil looks like he never knew what defensive rotation even means.....Morgan has forgot how to play a man and not the puck....
- Forwards - Marner owes the Leafs a bunch of money back.... Willie is softer than a new fallen snow.... Matthews has only looked ok the past couple of games as far as his back checking and Give-a-fuuck-o-meter has been working. Injuries happen, but the boys outside of the top 4 guys can also score a god damn goal too.... Speza, retire.... Taveres has been snake biten i think, looks slow and over-paid.
- Babcock has to get his shiit together or fuuck right off. His use of these players is explainable. His systems are not working, the boys don't friggin get it Mike...FFS, I think anyone could have this result coaching this team.

- Bright points, the Goat has been a pleasant surprise. Sandin was awesome.

Cheers,

- bixll

Agreed Bixll, Leafs are looking worse than your prostate!

I hope everything is going well for you, good to hear from ya.

Cheers!

Unless this team really sinks more in the standings.
Both Babs and Dubas will be here for the remainder of the season.

some stuff my eyes are seeing as well laid out better.

https://twitter.com/b1rky...tatus/1196485745009016833

A lot of weak shots from the points, and lots of pucks hitting the other team.

also looks like the Leafs have become predictable, not a lot of movement to create more open looks. Just shoot and hit the other teams skates.

I can also see that if players are being directed to play a certain way and its compounding these issues, its frustrating

here nor there imo.

willy should not have gotten 7.5M x 6 years with pasta setting the bar at 6.7M x6 a year earlier.

willy should have been closer to $6.25M x 6.

haha,

Up to the day he was traded.. 97.9% of habs fans would have never thought the most popular hab outside of Price would get traded. Subban was a part of the fabric of the team, to see him go was a tough pill to swallow.

But when you understand that you cant have a team made up of all offence, and to save on the ruining of an incredible talent in getting subban to play with less risk, the team decided to trade him.

SOME PLAYERS JUST CANT PLAY D. Matthews might just be that guy, and no one should fault him from being a soft back checker. Because the team should have players that step up when hes with out the puck. I wont suggest Matthews will be the piece going, but i dont think Nylander has enough value, especially with that poop contract to bring in the name or names that can fill the glaring holes this team has.

Barrie, he could be swapped befro the deadline for something, but DEF DEF are hard to come by and you need to find a team thats is missing a driver of the PP.
