Yeah, I was at the game and didn't see it happen, but watching it today it didn't seem like very much contact was made. If he gets concussed that easily he should seriously consider retiring or going on LTIR for the rest of his contract. - adambuffalo
Sabres are a good team in a bit of a slump. If they can pull themselves out of it, they will be good for the rest of the season
Krueger said another call-up from Rochester is being discussed (Dea or Oglevie). They have a meeting shortly about that. A recall from juniors (Cozens, Pekar) is not on the table. Larsson and Johansson are day-to-day after tomorrow. Whew.

This is not good ...... basically we will have an AHL offense. Worse than it already it. Which is hard to say

reason number 22 why cozens should have gotten a real look, and pekar
had one of them stuck after 9 games, our top 9 could be much better
how many playoff games have we had in those 5 years? - homiedclown
The issue is (as with all teams) how good is the organization at developing prospects into everyday NHL'ers. The Wings for example were traditionally good at this years ago (i.e. developing so-so prospects into NHL'ers) .... but not so much lately.
We are getting pretty desperate when we are considering dropping an 18-year old WHL player with 0 games professional experience into our line-up as our 2C. Can anyone say "Grigorenko"?
If for no other reason than a massive cultural change on the team, he needs to do the following and get rid of these losers:
Which Botterill has known for at least 2 years. So is he incompetent or oblivious?
Just bad at his job? - jcragcrumple
He overvalues his own assets. Quite simply put, it's the only logical explanation. GMTM was able to make trades at will, largely because he was unafraid of giving up a lot. His trade record is...questionable, but then so is Botts, and he can't seem to get a move made when the team is dying for one.
For the record, here are the signings last summer that could have really helped:
Broussard (Isles) 6G 7A in 18 games, signed for 1.2 mil for one year (less than either twin). Also 52.4% on faceoffs.
Dzingel (Car) 4G 10A in 20 games, signed for only 3.375 for two years (just don't bring back Rodrigues and Girgensons)
Brett Connolly (Florida) 7G, 6 A in 20 games for only 3.25 per year
Not saying we should have signed any of them, but the point is there are always deals to be made that could help the team, and Botts is to blame if nothing is done.
He decided to not buy or trade for 2 line RW or Center.
He decided it's best to have Girgs and Lockport Larry back more than a second line scoring. - mattsox
In Way over his head, showed it last year and here we are doing it all over, Yet again. Exactly why the buffalo fan base is in a wait and see this year... Wasting yet another year

It's absolutely ridiculous that Dach can land a permanent spot with the Hawks, who have a much deeper talent pool at forward, but Cozens can't crack our top 12 for a 9 game trial.

Teamlilfe - Über Niederlagen zum Erfolg.
We would love an English translation, figure you can bang out a chapter a day. - washedup20
Chapter 1:
OOOOOOOwee, hey look at me, looking for some sympathy,
Its the same old story of a man in the search for glory
And he found it there, underneath the bottle.
Things are never good, they go from bad to wierd,
Give me another scotch with my beer.
I'm sad to say, I feel the same today,
As I always do. Give me a drink to relax me!
A trade is something that needs to be happening. - thatsapickle
Update from the future:
"The Sabres makeshift 2nd line of Johansson centering Bogosian and Gilmour combined for 4 of the Sabres goals on Tuesday night. Krueger said Bogosian will remain the Sabres second line right wing for the foreseeable future. "His physical genius brought a missing spark to the team tonight"

The top 3 picks are playing in the NHL. Don't believe anyone else is. Is that really ridiculous?
Amazing how other coaches make changes after only a 3 game losing streak and goal scoring troubles
Mired in a three-game losing streak and, more significantly, stuck in a scoring rut where the team hasn't scored more than three non-empty net goals in a regulation game in three weeks, Blues coach Craig Berube is giving his offense a shake on Monday.
Berube changed all four of his lines, and there were unorthodox moves all around: Tyler Bozak, almost exclusively a center in his NHL career, is moving to the wing; Robert Thomas, naturally a center but mostly a wing in his brief NHL career, is going to the middle; and the fourth line, the one redeeming unit on the offense, was broken up, with Klim Kostin moving in and Oskar Sundqvist joining the third line.
"Generate some five-on-five scoring," Berube said. "It's been down and we've got to generate more. Just trying to move a few guys around and see if we can get something going."
