They aren’t as good as Carolina - but not as bad as they’ve looked here.

In 5 periods this season, Carolina has outscored the Hawks 7 - 0.

Agree, like all of the other acquisitions. Smith is meh imo, serviceable, but willing to replace him at any moment.

No they're not as bad as tonight, but the Hawks have to bury any chances they get, like they did against Nashville. Our compete level was much better against Nashville too. Just a slower team tonight in every facet.

Our slow d-corps is really showing up tonight. Carolina driving right past our d-men. D-zone time looks like earlier this season when the Hawks were chasing the puck but never quick enough to get there.

I know there are games like this but this is really disappointing. The quickness and speed of Carolina really show how far away the Hawks are from being a contending team - and Carolina isn't even one of the top teams.

add lehner can't be super goalie every game either..

canes are superb in the dzone...jam it up, great support get it back and get it out...

other than the pp...they have not spent more than 10 sec in ozone

Carolina is a good team, a real good team. Fast and disciplined like it was mentioned earlier, a top four team in the East. Hawks are good and have been trending up, we are what we are at this time, a team battling for a playoff spot, we are not yet a cup contender. We have some tough games coming up, have to figure out how to get through them playing .500 hockey.

Yes Carolina is a good team and yes they're pretty fast - but a lot of the Hawks problems are unforced errors - passes into a teammates skates or off the mark or being so frazzled by Carolina's speed that they're rushing the play and lose control of the puck. Carolina is one of those teams that play aggressive and contest everything and with their speed and the Hawks lack of speed it causes the Hawks to not play with poise.

19 & 8 have played great so far. 88 is getting double shifted. Hopefully, it sparks the team in the final period.

They are a bubble team - not as good as the top-10 teams in the league (like Carolina), but able to hold their own with the rest and win when playing well.

The key will be to play well often enough against the other 20 teams to get into the tournament. Lehner and Crawford will keep them in most of those.

I think they are.....if they had Corey Crawford, look out. They double up teams on shots regularly. Good Young Fast Team.

TT has become a quality top-line player for the Canes - not the “alligator armed” waif who left Chicago.

It’s too bad the Hawks had to ship him out to unload Bickell’s deal.

I’d like to see 8 with #19 this period, and free Sikura!
