The stats read pretty even, even though the eye test said Carolina carried the play for all but the last 10 minutes.

The one pair of stats that reflect the Canes dominance is the Giveaway/Takeaway delta. The Canes had 11 takeaways to go with the Hawks 13 giveaways for a total of 24 change of possessions in their favor - versus - the Hawks 7 takeaways to go along with the Canes 4 giveaways for a total of 11 change of possessions in their favor. That's a delta of 13 change of possessions in Carolina's favor - that A LOT for one game, and it's pretty reflective of how most of the game went.

It was awful. Passing in their own zone time after time after time they finally get the puck, HESITATE, because they didn't know what they were going to do with the puck or waiting for someone to come open and the Canes did a fantastic job of recognizing and getting in all the passing lanes. They had no idea how to beat it.

The play the Hawks needed to run was simple, as soon as a teammate was gaining possession the highest forward needed to just take off towards the opponents net, the dmen of the Canes were cheating for 2 periods than they just backed off and played it safe in the 3rd period.

I only saw the first period, but when Gus had the blow out at the blueline, WTF was Keith doing being right beside him trying to out pokecheck the puck, Canes player pokes it ahead and bam a 2 on 0. If that was a rookie, he would of hardly sniffed the ice the rest of the game. Horrible brain fart by Keith.

I agree horrible read by Keith, but with all that traffic at the blue line Gusto decides he's going to make a play instead of just shooting it down low, (frank)ing know you're opponent and expect pressure from anywhere

You sure did not give Toews much to play with.

If Dach can show soon here that he can handle being a Center for the most part I think it would do wonders for Toews the same it has done for Claude Giroux. They need for Dach to be that second center though AND they need either Kampf (continue to do so) or someone else to step up as the 3C before the could seriously consider it though. It would make some sense to put Dach with Toews though because if they needed a big FO win they could slide Toews in which is basically what they are doing now with the 4th line and Carpenter.

Toews to the wing talk is ridiculous. He is still, by far, the best center on the team. If you want to throw Dach on his line, make him the LW. The only other change I would make is flipping Kubalik and Nylander.
