He did let that goal in from #25 from the red line, he was a real good goalie, had a monster rookie season with like 14 shutouts, but sorry, not a HOF goalie in my book.

I am not sure what the fancy stats say, but it looked like the top line of Carolina pretty much dominated the Hawks just about every time they were on the ice. The Hawks had no answer. The Hawks were fairly even against the Canes lines 2, 3, 4.

I wonder if Q would have had more success matching up against that line. I always felt that was one of his strengths, especially on home ice.

JC is still learning, he’s a young coach and will get out coached from time to time, last night was one of those times, it’s going to happen. I would have liked a line of Saad, Toews, and Kubalik against their #1 line.

Since the Vancouver game - which I think is when Colliton reconstituted the Strome line:

AdB = 1+7=8 points
Strome = 1+8=9 points
Kane = 7+8=15 points

You'd certainly like more goals from AdB, and one or two more from Strome, and certainly much of that production is driven by Kane, but 9+23=32 points in 7 games from that line. (Only 2 of Kane's goals were on the PP.)

While I don't disagree those contracts were and are stupid to cap strap your team that soon having not won anything to that point, the Coach is always the first domino to fall (queue GIF from someone). It's up to him to get the most out of his roster which he hasn't been doing. If the new kid doesn't take them to the next level then Dubas will be the next to go and then all bets are off for that team. They're starving for a cup and will do some crazy poop to try and win one lmao

Agree on Ditka. And all the ball buster coaches wear out their welcome sooner or later no matter how much knowledge they have. There has to be give and take and it has to be timed well. Babchoke runs a great practice, but there's no way to live with a guy like that for nine months a year.

Overall the team should be way way better than they've been playing.

Babcock helped drive the Red Wings into the ground, and was doing the same for the Leafs.

he's made the 2nd round of the playoffs once since Nick Lidstrom retired. Outrageously overrated coach. Q is the guy that deserves the reputation Babcock has.

Caligula is not a top 6 player. He had a nice run last season but he is not a top 6 player on a good team.
