Lot of players in this league don’t hate losing enough
They cash their check - wear $5,000 suits & accept losing

We are trying to implement a system similar to the Canes no? I think DeHaan commented that it was similar.
I am sure the Canes forwards know exactly how to defend it. |

What’s the likelihood the new Leaf coach is a guy no one has heard of, and is coaching in a 2nd Tier league in Slovakia?

Babcock another coach who the game has passed by.
The list:
Crawford
Q
Babcock
Sutter - gifman
You mean the guy that as FLA in 2nd place? Q seems to have retained his mojo. And his players seem to love him, based on published interviews. |

You know what impressed me the most is they constantly had their stick on the ice, in position with one hand, and any saucer pass they do a great job of lifting their stick and getting a good piece of the puck.

Haven’t put any thought t9 it, but my money would be on someone with NHL coaching experience, at least as interim for this season. The fan base may burn down Maple Leaf Garden if they miss the playoffs.
Babcock hasn’t forgotten how to coach. He couldn’t figure out a way to win with a roster of too many good forwards, not enough competent defensemen, and no back up goalie.

Well it sounds like the Maple Leafs want a coach like JC, FWIW

Here’s the lead from ‘The Hockey News’.
BABCOCK TAKES THE FALL, BUT HIS FIRING IS NOTHING SHORT OF A COMPLETE ORGANIZATIONAL FAILURE
Mike Babcock will take the fall for a team that has wildly underachieved and the reality is that he must accept some of the culpability here. But the fact remains that this represents an organizational failure of epic proportions on everyone’s part. |

For sure, Stan would have easily got a first round pick for Knott in the summer. |

Agreed, this is totally and completely Stan’s fault. |

I always felt that hockey is a sport where having the coach be the GM actually makes sense. It's done often in football, but the style of play in hockey seems to dictate that the GM and coach HAVE to be on the same page. IMO that's why Q was fired. He had a different vision and system than Stan wanted. I'm hopeful that JC will be good for Chicago, but I fear that his age and experience will cause problems with "the core." |

I bet that's why uncle Lou left them, i bet he was trying to reason with ownership and talk them out of signing Tavares. Goes to Islanders and doing a nice job. |
